All fine and well.. until you or your fam are caught up in the mix.

Then you will wish you understood the risk and acted accordingly.

Considering the national threat level has been "Severe" and therefore there has been an apparent imminent threat of attack for the last few years how long to do you stay hidden in your bunker until they go away?

My 'fam' have a much much much greater (x112,890) chance of dying in a car accident, should they stay at home permanently? Oh no wait there are fatalities at home too....damned if you do etc...

As it's likely to happen now, I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering where they will hit us?

Personally I'm avoiding the main tourists spots.
Canary wharf should be OK given all the security. The city is probably more at risk.

Thoughts?

So you are letting the terrorists win then?

If you are so worried about tour own safety then i also assume you will not be getting anywhere near your car, and will be on a strict diet?

You talk about other people understanding risk but assume that people and their family will inevitably be caught up in a terrorist act. I think you need to understand what risk means :p

I'm amazed that the Channel Tunnel hasn't been blown up yet.
ISIS really need to get their **** together and sort it out.

There are no end of pumping stations or sewer tunnels they could shut down
Not to mention the clusters of fibre around London's datacentres that are basically a locked manhole cover away from being cut.
Any of the West End nightclubs or private members clubs.

The Lee Rigby event had zero impact, but a bomb in a bin anywhere near a visiting American, that would shut down tourism overnight.

But then the IRA could have down all this and they didn't really, so all the likely suspects are probably really heavily monitored.

You say that but you can get into CW easily via the Jubilee Line or DLR without any security checks - it's wide open to attack.

London is obviously a likely target, but after all these drills they are doing and talk of the SAS being on standy by, I wonder what kind of plans they have for places like Birmingham?

After all, they found photos of the bull ring on the phone of one of the guys involved in the Paris attacks (or a connection, can't remember). Us midlanders don't matter it seems. :p
