NZ votes to keep their flag

should have had this vote ahead of the vote to pick a design IMO

for example some people may have wanted to change but didn't like that particular design and conversely if the majority weren't interested in change regardless of the design then they'd have saved a lot of wasted time and effort from people submitting then voting on designs

would have seemed the sensible option...perhaps they just didnt like the final design enough though

My guess would be that those in the "change" camp felt they stood a better chance if they were able to show off the potential replacement during voting.

“I do think it [a flag change] will happen in the next decade. This has kicked off the debate. This isn’t the end, just the beginning.”
Why is it people can't accept the result of a vote and get on with it?

£12m to vote for the status quo and they can't even abide by the decision in the following week.

True.

If that's the best, and it cost £12m to get to the finishing line, then a total waste of money.

Always prefered the black white emblem from the All-Blacks tbh- but hey i don't live there

They only kicked off this debate about a flag to appease the Maori,
because white people all have to apologise for something the Victorians did

Wish there was a vote to change the 2012 Olympic logo when we hosted. Paid £400,000 for a logo that looked like it was taken from a grafitied concrete wall from an early 90s pop music video.

The All-Blacks logo is copyrighted and for various reasons can't be used.

The feeling I get is that most New Zealanders want to change the flag, it's just a matter of finding a design that's agreeable to enough people.

We have an EU umbrella, does that make us idiots?

Depends, do you know any skinheads that are foaming at the mouth?
If you do and they are located nearby, just announce yourself an idiot and move on leaving the umbrella behind, Darwinism will take care of those Neanderthals eventually.

I know an idiot who flies that horrible EU flag, surprised nobody has cut his flag pole down by now.

I'm surprised you still haven't drowned in a teaspoon, forgotten to breathe or strangled yourself with your shoelaces tbh.
