I have the Fractal desigh R5 case and re-wired my PC the other day when my new PSU arrived. Its now a lot better than what it was but still no-where near as tidy as some machines that I see. Does the PSU need to be mounted at the top in order to hide all the cables behind the case? - I know it can't with mine but I mean with full tower cases

Also, is this the best layout for fans? I have 2 intake at the front, push pull on the CPU with rear and top exhaust fans

Can the GPU power cables go the long way to the PSU? Out of the water cooling hole just above the card and round the back to the bottom of the case?

Wow that looks messy :D

I would also get rid of the top hard drive bay. Put the 3 hard drives in the bottom bay, and put the SSD's at the back of the case in the two dedicated slots. The top fan will then have better airflow to the gpu.

What are the SSD dedicated slots??

Thanks all, ill sort the GPU cables first if they are long enough

edit. I removed the top bay underneath the DVD drive and the metal tray mount looked like it would fit an SSD in but doesnt. It was like a rubiks cube getting it back inside the correct way too.

I then was doing some sort of computer UFC / Jujitsu to get the case back cover on due to all the cables :)

Bit cleaner though now

There should be two SSD mounting places directly behind the motherboard tray:

Case looks more like a Fractal Design Define R2/3 to me.

May not have the SSD mounts behind the motherboard tray. Also do not think the HDD rack will not be in two partitions.

Cables do look much better now though. :)

Yeh it doesnt have those on the back, sorry, it must be the r2 / r3 as freddie says. The hdd rack is all as one.
Do you think it would be better to mount the top fan thats current exhause as an intake fan at the bottom?

The fan setup is fine, leave the exhausts otherwise you'll get higher temps as the heat cant be expelled

The issue with these is there is no PSU shroud and the drives are mounted in the main chamber, not much you can do other than change case if it bothers you that much, I have a Define S but it still has no PSU shroud which irritates me sometimes

Thanks. Yeh, dont want the cables getting mangled up in the dan!
There is a psu dust filter on the bottom of the case if thats what you mean Relentless?

Think ill leave it as is. Temps on the gpu seem to have dropped a couple of degrees and it looks a lot tidier than before
