Good iPad game for a long flight

Another option would be the get a 3DS if you fly fairly often. The old 3DS XLs are cheap these days and you get access to two great libraries in the DS and 3DS.
Just food for thought.
Battery life would be an issue though.

I've got flights to Florida in April and to Vegas in August. For my flights I've got games like FTL, X-Com, Football Manager Handheld, Hitman Go, Lara Croft Go, Hunters 2 (awesome game), KOTOR and more. Yet, I know full well that I'll be spending half the flight playing expert level Sudoku :/
Not hugely different to the iPad Pro, for general use I get decent life but for gaming you are looking at 3-5 hours depending on how hard it pushes the hardware. You could probably charge it via USB port depending on who you fly with but you're unlikely to be able to pull much juice.
I own a 3DS and for longer periods (anything over an hour) it is much much more comfortable than the iPad Pro. Grab yourself Steamworld Heist and the flight should fly past

looking through he above suggestions I would go with Bastion, utterly fantastic game
I notice most of the games mentioned in here are multi-platform/PC ports. Are there no "built for iPad" or "iPad only" games that anyone can recommend? There must be some unique gems out there that you can't play anywhere other than on tablet.

Enjoyed a game called Rebuild, theres a rebuild 3 out now too! Also point and click puzzle games! Fire maple games have there 3 in one package on ios, new one out soon too!

There's the Infinity Blade games I suppose, but they require a lot of swiping on the screen so may not be the best choice for a cramped plane seat. Pretty addictive though, with great graphics.
