This paper.... Like the daily mail.... Really do try appeal to their readers dont they. I'm seeing this being shared on my facebook now and its really irritating to see how many gullible people fall for it and just start hating Muslims (when in reality they dint care).

I mean... I've just looked at my Easter eggs... And whilst they don't have Easter in massive writing.... They do have Easter on it somewhere. The normal explanation is that the companies probably chose their brand logo over the word Easter... Like they have been doing for many many years.

Also... I dont know where the assumption came from was to not offend other religions. I presume its the same old people who complained about the false news story where you cant call it Christmas anymore. You have to call it 'happy holidays' or 'Winter' something. This article was to completely cause hatred and has not one ounce of truth.
 
And then then hear people banging on about 'the left' destroying this country ..... When I don't know one lefty who would say 'oh we cant call it Easter I dont want to offend that muslim.' Or 'we cant say merry Christmas... That's disrespectful'

I've never heard one politically left person say anything like that so I dont know where it comes from.
 
My response to, and I'm ashamed to admit it, a couple of relatives that posted the story with things like "PATHETIC - shame on you Cadbury!":-

It's a made up story in the Daily Star (I mean, c'mon - it's the Daily Star - did anyone think it was true?). There is no policy to "ban" the word Easter from the packs - just because the word Easter isn't on the pack != banning the word. In fact, on Sainsburys website it actually says in the description "Easter egg hunt pack" and on Cadburys "Join the egg hunt fun this Easter". So, to summarise - the story is a load of ******** - don't believe everything you read - esp if it's in the Daily Star! Just more of a vent really.... But I'm surprised how much people on facebook believe it. My mum and dad get really riled up about this stuff (inc the Christmas thing) and I keep telling them not to believe everything they read especially in papers like this.

Sad to say that my own family fall for this sort of stuff. It's like the facebook post that goes round every so often stating how ex soldiers get £70pw and asylum seekers get £400 a week or something.

Can't believe people fall for it.

Take the Easter/Religious aspect away and just rename them something neutral and peaceful like Love Eggs ?

If you read all the articles it just looks like a publicity campaign by "The Meaningful Chocolate Company".

If I had to guess this is to avoid having to sell the chocolates at highly reduced prices after Easter.

I can't believe what I'm reading in today's paper...Cabdury,s are banning the word Easter on their eggs in case it offends other religions. Omg ,I'm a Christian ,we are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. If we went to their countries I am damn sure they wouldn't give up their religion for us. Why are we just laying down without a ****** fight. If it offends them, then don't come. This Is a Christian country, if you don't like it DONT ****** COME. Fuming with Cadbury,s I won't be buying their eggs again

Yeah I missed out on my Cadburys Creme Egg Easter Egg with egg cup holder, god damn it. I would have added another one to the collection.

Nice sig btw, roll on June :D Can't see Nothern Ireland getting to the knock out phase though :p it just won't happen. Germany and Ukraine will see to that.
