I put on a lot of weight in the last two years and I now have lots of 30" jeans & trousers that don't fit me any more..

So do you guys normally throw your clothes away or store them just in case you loose weight again...

If they don't fit, and you don't foresee them fitting any time soon, to the charity shop / collection / cloth bank they go!

Get them sold on ebay if you have a lot and they are decent condition. Or if you cba with that then dump them at a charity shop. Never just throw them away. At the very least they make good cloths for cleaning etc.

I guess you mean 30" rather than 30cm?

I took almost all my old clothes to a local charity shop. After a few months, they wrote to me and told me that they'd sold everything and raised nearly £100. I kept a couple of decent designer shirts and put them on eBay but they only went for a few quid each, it would have been easier to have just given them to the charity shop as well.

use them as motivation to lose the weight? i'd say no thanks to having to buy a new wardrobe just because i got fat.

No no. He was quite clear he meant 30cm when I questioned it! He must just have really really...and I mean really short legs. Could be a variety of dwarfism which I guess would limit the market for selling them but can still donate to charity or recycle.

I put them in the charity clothing bank outside my local firestation. All proceeds go towards helping injured or distressed fire fighters.

Unless you're selling Ben Sherman or Nike trainers etc, eBay will only get you peants, 99p initial bid tops for most items I've sold. So not worth my effort, so charity shop nowadays.

If it's just due to gaining a bit of weight, I keep them until I (hopefully) trim down again. If I no longer like the clothes then I'll give them to charity. That goes for clothes that fit me as well.
