Longest you've been in hospital as a patient

a full week- I was going nuts after two days. Although sedated with morphine and more drugs than I had taken in my entire life, I couldn't sit around in bed all day. Nurses began to get a bit miffed I was always up and walking around, but three boxes of "thankyou" chocolate soon sorted that out :)

Been in and out of hospital since - 2015 was not a good year :(

4 days for appendix removal.
Thankfully I spent most of the 2nd day asleep, due to operation and painkillers, but the nights were the worse, old guy in the bed next to me didn't have all his mental faculties, would just suddenly start screaming in the middle of the night.
The night before my operation he **** the bed at about 2am, decided to have a walk around the hospital while the poor nurses cleaned him up. :o

6 hours (mostly waiting) to have the side of my scalp stitched back together after being hit with a rounder's bat (genuine accident).

The scraping of the needle on my skull when the doctor went in to stitch it closed was horrific.

7 days.

Crazy ear infection leading to "bells palsy"

Was quite hilarious, couldn't shut my eye properly or smile. 99% recovered now but i still get headaches and funny twitchy feelings!

Sucking puss out of my ear with a vaccum cleaner... mmmmmmm

I had a few nights, can't remember how many. Think 3-4, on a kids cancer ward at Bristol Royal Infirmary when I was 15. It was not a nice experience being surrounded by so many kids with such horrible illnesses. Lots of crying / tears / shrieks from all the pain and suffering occurring.

Should add - I shouldn't really have been on that ward. I had a lump removed (which was benign). I guess it was there just in case it had gone the other way.

Was also awful when my chest drain failed - They pulled it out (that felt weird) and I gushed blood all over the bed. Had to go back in again too because the void re-filled with blood again!

23 days, was supposed to be 6 days then my resurfaced hip dislocated, from that point it was then projected to be 3 months bed rest for the joint pocket to heal after re-insertion. After 3 weeks laid down I put it to them that if I stayed laid down any longer I might never get back up, muscle loss was going into overdrive with lack of exercise and it's very hard to maintain muscle bulk and function even when i'm active due to muscular dystrophy. Fortunately I was given the chance to get up and my hip joint stayed in place so I was allowed home.

10 days, rushed in Christmas day, out just after new years day. Spent new years eve lying on a table being pumped full of plasma. Some party that was.

Spent 2 weeks as a kid due to some complications (and eventual removal) with tonsillitis - these days the same kind of thing is like a 3 day stay max.

6 months. Further follow-up operations. About 1yr off work.

edit:
collapsed both lungs, had femur nailed, sub-arachnoid head injury, rebuilt knee, broken tibia/fibia/humerous (knackered elbow join after multiple ops), broken radius/ulna/5th meta carpal, ulna nerve severed (hand now working). Broken clavicle/wrist. Broken eye socket (affected my eyesight but tested). Died 3 times - heart stopped beating and I stopped breathing etc.

Metal - elbow although most taken out now, radius in other arm screwed and plated. Left hand plated.

9 Months when I was 17 after a motorbike accident and resulting spinal injury. I wasn't allowed home for weekends until the 6 month mark, which was pretty hard.

4 days when I was 13 due to a testicular torsion. Horrible but could be worse.

Motorbike?

14 nights.

Last summer I contacted pneumonia. Unbeknown to me (I thought I had a nasty cold) I carried on in increasing discomfort for about 2 weeks. The pneumonia developed outside the lung in a pleural effusion which also became infected. I eventually woke up at about 2am on my own in a hotel unable to breathe and shivering uncontrollably. I realised I needed urgent help and called 999.
When the paramedic arrived my temperature was 41 degrees and I was extremely agitated.
I was taken to Bristol Southmead amd stayed there with a chest drain and heaps of antibiotics for 2 weeks. I was bored but extremely well looked after.
