Literally just bought a PS4 (excited about PSVR!). I currently have a PS3 and my questions are:

a. Selling my PS3 - do i do a factory reset prior to selling?

b. PS account - i currently have about £40 in there - when i get the PS4 do i just log into my account and the cash/trophies etc will update to the new console?

c. Anything i need to be aware of?!

Got a good deal on the PS4 so couldn't resist - the PS3 will be in the MM soon(ish!).

I came in expecting a thread about why the PS3 is superior to the PS4, I am leaving disappointed.

Was expecting troll post. Also disappointed. Ban for title tbh.

Deactivate your PS3, money tied to SEN account so no issue. Factory reset. Job done

Don't bother selling your PS3, they're practically worthless! Keep it and enjoy all the free PSN games you'll still get.

I've also got my old PS3 beside my PS4. Still use it for movies stored locally and add the free PSN games as others mention...

Surprised mine is still going strong - one of the early fat shiny ones...

Got a 40GB Fatty still kicking around but it's my stepdads so doesnt get used much.

Hang onto that PS3!

Still probably the best blu ray players out there, and there are some worthwhile goodies still being thrown in on PS+.

Keep your PS3! Mine gets used a lot more than my PS4, thats for sure XD

Mostly as there's no backwards compatibility if you want to play PS3 games. Or you could just box it up and put it away if you don't need it. And then when you inevitably get the craving to play one of those great PS3 gems (not all of them have been remastered on PS4 ya know) then you can bring it out, wipe off the dust and get cracking. Not to mention PSPlus.

I'd keep it too, my daughters old PS3 is just about the most complete media player on the market as far as I'm concerned as its the only player than can access ALL of the online streaming services (Netflix, NowTV, Amazon, iPlayer), plex and play games that are actually worth playing. Its also plays DVD's and Blurays very very well.

Dude, keep it. Not worth selling it for 50/60 quid or so.
Have any kids, second room with extra TV? PS+ have many nice PS3 games worth playing.
