From the looks of it the storms taken out my power and the street atleast. Anyone else been struck by it yet? Not even sure how big this storms been broadcasted tbh all I know is it's enough for signs to be put up on the A12 and M25 for warnings.

Just twiddling my thumbs around now, being a night owl I've easily got another 2 hours in me. My phone is also only 14% so this won't last long haha. Just sit here in the darkness. Not like I can even finally getting around to starting a feast for crows.

Any recommendations fellas? Except sleep :p

In reply to both of these comments. I live in the middle of nowhere and I'm running on 3G. These simple forums are about the only thing that'll load.

Let alone upload a picture or load a video ;)

Streaking in the dark wet wind. Sounds fun :D although knowing my luck I'll fall over one of the millions horse ***** that the country side has to offer.

Can't wait to get back to uni. I'll find a game on my phone or something. Just had a genius idea to keep it alive. My laptop still has battery. Now it will supply my phone with battery. Hours of entertainment to come. :D

True, true. For gaming your smarty is far more efficient. When playing Words with Friends, you get bonus points for all possible synonyms of storm, wind, hurricane, and other extreme weather phenomena. :p You could also load a psychedelic GIF and stare at that for X hours. :)

*sigh* just tried to turn my Xbox on so I can finally finish far cry thinking it was my internet that was out not my power. Got bored of solataire after completing it twice. I don't even have any wine in to send me to sleep. :(

Ah, there goes my recommendation of Vodka Chess(TM). That's why you need a backup generator, Snookums. :) But! You could always try writing a book, and see how far you can get in one sitting! Either that, or create crop circles to amuse and puzzle the neighbours!

Might just drive back to uni now haha going back later anyway and I bet I have power there!

If I was going to do something productive I'd do uni work but that ain't happening, I promised myself one week of the 4 weeks off id lay the books down.

Also I'm gonna go on a hunch and say you don't own the trademark to vodka chess ;) I've got some American honey whiskey here but it's too nice to drink and every time I drink it I get a lil' sadder knowing it'll be gone soon

Whiskey will do! Spirit Chess :p The rules are in the Night Owls thread. Bring friends.

It's quite a drive from Essex to Notts, or the other way round, in this weather. Will you accept the challenge?! What can a man do for POWER! :D

Obviously you must live in the South which means it will be the main headlines on the news tomorrow. In the North, we just get on with it without any news coverage ...

Whey it's back on! I'll save the journey. Don't imagine the gf will be too happy that I left without her. She needs driving back to uni too!

Albert, while that is very true. I can only imagine somewhere up north will get severe flooding so that'll top it. Not that it's a good thing. Having gone from living in Essex to Brighton to Nottingham. Nottingham has been the best so far. It's cheaper up north (although it's technically Midlands) and people aren't as rude.

Even better! Leave a cryptic note... then vanish. And yes, it does get funkier up North, though the Scots always claim that they are the True North, banter ensues.

Anyhow, the winds here lost 6 mph from their peak of 39, so not bad innings for me or the tree outside. :D

Sucks to be you right now. Hope it's not too bad of a leak and your stuff is safe. Been on the landlords bad side recently then? ;)

neh just everything seemed to go at once :o :) radiator broke, tap broke and now the leak started in the living room!

all electrics etc are away from it so it's all good :o
