Hi Guys, not sure if this is the right place to post this but oh well ;

Me and 2 mates (all 20) want to go on a european break for around a week (no zante/kavos etc chav holes) basically eating well, drinking well and sightseeing and maybe even taking in a football match over there.

We did Prague last year and I have been to Amsterdam (other 2 haven't) and Antwerp.

Criteria is ; all going on the week starting 30 May. Want to visit 2 destinations, ideally have reasonable priced flights from Gatwick.

Have been looking at several places, Budapest,Dublin,Berlin,Munich,Tallin,Vienna and Bratislava all look decent.

Suggestions/tips/ideas etc all welcome!!

If it were me I'd try to do a German city and an Italian city, though that may add a bit of cost getting from one to the other! Berlin is somewhere I've been wanting to go for a while; lots to do, plenty to drink and good food as far as I'm aware!

Loved Budapest
Only seen bits of Dublin
Berlin - don't know
Munich - don't know
Tallinn - gorgeous, beautiful city.
Vienna - don't know
Bratislava - very nice - quite a small city

Of the ones I've been to on your list I would pick Budapest. It's bigger than Bratislava, it's more "pubby" than Budapest. You'll have a great time in any of them.

Okay thanks for that, would you do say 3 nights in Budapest and 2 in another city and pay a whack for the flights, or just do the full 5 days in Budapest.

When we went to Prague we did the full 5 days there.

Vienna/Munich would make for an interesting trip and there is a direct train between them. You won't catch a football match as the season ends early because of Euro 2016.

Bratislava and Vienna are both very close, I would do 2 nights in Vienna followed by one in Bratislava and then 3 in Budapest.

The trains are cheap and really nice. Get the first or business class ticket on a RJ train if you can.

I'd go to Budapest

you could always pop to another city like Vienna for a night or two too via train but Budapest is pretty awesome in itself

Madrid is worth a visit, very different to Barcelona but a lot to see and more bars than you could hope to visit. I think they have a good football team as well :-).

You could easily do 5 days in Budapest. I stayed 3 nights and still had plenty that I wanted to see as well as just spend time soaking up the atmosphere. Absolutely loved the place and lived like a king there as food and drinks were cheap.

Just read the above post. I've spent a couple of weekends in Amsterdam and loved it too! Although it is not as cheap to stay there.

I did Madrid last year for a long weekend with 5 other mates. We even got tickets for Atleti v Barca - it was immense. The city itself was stunning and food & drinks were equally as good. I'm thinking of taking this Mrs this year.

Done Berlin>Prague>Vienna last year over the space of 10 days. Out of all them were going back to Berlin this year. Prague was incredible for the one pub, which I could sit in for weeks.

Vienna was good, but just a bit mental. The drinking age is so low, you don't want to go into any clubs.
