Ok so I know I want a wheel for my PC.
Here are the options (that I would like opinions on anyway)

G29 new, without shifter for £145
Or
G27 used, with shifter, £140

I can get by without shift on the g29 but I would be adding it later, and it seems to have more buttons at finger tips

The g27 on the other hand is complete with shifter right off the bat, but older (will it have support long term perhaps?) , looks like less buttons conveniently layer out obviously I'd test out first.

The ps4 compatibility is kinda non issue, I might use a g29 on a ps4 one day but not really bothered.

Which would you go for?

If I were getting one today I'd get a G29.

I've got a G27 with shifter and to be honest the amount of times I use the shifter is limited, but I'm not too bothered about total realism ie. only driving stick shift cars with it etc. The G27 is a great wheel but so apparently is the G29. The reasons that I'd get the G29 instead are as follows:

You can buy a shifter as an upgrade in the future if you feel you want one.

The PS4 compatibility whilst not currently that important may be in the future if better games come out such as a new Gran Turismo, in which case you will not be able to use your G27.

Both at that price are great.

Thanks for the input

I might have calculated it wrong, the g29 might work out to £162 in the end, if that makes any odds to your opinion?

If I had one right now I'd be playing Euro and American Truck simulators (already looked how I can make a 6speed physical shifter work with an 18speed virtual on both wheels)
dirt rally
Project cars
Then more to follow like

G-25 - 27 - 29 - 30 is all marginal isn't it? they are all awesome wheels, just slight tweeks and differences.
Edit
I think the main reason the g27 is so prevalent is because of all the profiles for games (G27 PROFILE)
and yes i bought a g27 and yes its second hand, also £20 off of the list price but it makes sense to me.
they will/do hold their price so im happy.
get the g-27 as long as it hasn't been hammed witch most wheels Havant.
