It was 20 years ago now, but even so I remember not seeing any security at all when taking an internal egyptair flight.

Or maybe the stuff was hidden onboard for them like the russian plane that gor blown up in egypt

You can pay money to pass security in certian airports in Egypt. Unbeliavable really.

Not to mention it was a domestic flight where security checks are possibly more lax. I've been on domestic flights within some European countries where they don't check your papers and barely pay attention to your luggage.

Apparently, he's trying to get the attention of his ex wife. An Egyptian defence spokesman had said "This man is not a terrorist, he's an idiot"

He'll have got a fair bit of attention, wouldn't be surprised if he does get asylum, for about 30 years in a small room.
Lots of foreigners on board but only 4 remain now apparently. Origins unknown.
