I need to change my energy suppliers from british gas who are the best energy suppliers at the moment ?

I've only used eon and EDF both have been good

Has anyone used first utility or flow energy ?

I'm with extra energy. To begin with they set up direct debit a bit high but after they took meter reading 3 months later they automatically lowered it based on my actual usage.

Never needed to contact them so no idea what they're like to deal with on the phone but happy with them so far.

the cheap;est im getting in this order

1. Npower
2. first-utility
3. Places for People Energy
4. Flow Energy
5. ScottishPower
6. iSupplyEnergy

Top 6 have a exit fee

7. Avro Energy
8. So Energy
9. GB Energy Supply Limited
10. Extra Energy - fix for 18 month

Difference of £13 over the year between 1-10, ill need to have a look at the unit price but I would like to know if I should avoid any of these.

My choices
1. GB Energy -
Pros: No Early exit fee, support is rated well, 8:00am – 8:00pm,
Cons: its last in the price race,

2. First utility
Pros: 2nd place for price, Good support rating
Cons: Early exit or plan switch fee:£60

3. Flow Energy
Pros: 3rd in price for me, I like idea ground-breaking boiler generates electricity while it heats your home.
Cons: New, only available between 8:30am-5pm mon-fri, Early exit fee:£60

4. npower
Pros: Cheapest of the lot
Cons: Poor support , Early exit fee:£40

5. iSupplyEnergy
Pros: it's a new British,
Cons: 4th for price, Early exit fee: £60

Or should I just stick with EDF

First Utility here, I cant fault them at all, kept in the loop about everything at all times, support answered accurately and quickly. Mobile app, very good imho.

Pointless discussing this on here, depends on where you are in the country and your usage. Prices differ greatly. Just use a search site, Cheap Energy Club keeps me on the best deal.

Not much to add other then don't touch Scottish power with a barge poll.

I've never encountered a bigger bunch of useless muppets in my life

Can vouch for this. Gladly left them after the system failed to adjust for increase winter usage, hello massive bill .

This, it's a good service.

A guy at work raves about http://www.ecotricity.co.uk/.

Not sure how they compare price wise, but the service is apparently very good, and he seem to suggest it was very competitive.

I'm with them too. They're not the cheapest, but the customer service is absolute perfection and they build their own wind farms, solar farms, and "green gas" plants.

They're the greenest supplier in the country by far - 21 times less CO2 per kWh than British Gas for example, and 36 times less than npower.

Price is the only thing I would base the decision on I've literally never called my supplier in 15 years the only contact has been when leaving them and then they are happy to phone you!
