CPU Fan Error ! Asus Deluxe X99

Hi - I've got a PWM D5 pump on my CPU Fan Header. I did have a case fan on the CPU OPT as well but found that bios and AI Suite treat it as one header so the fan was basically always at full speed. Couple of fan splitters later, and I now have the PWM pump on the CPU Fan Header and nothing on the CPU OPT. Now I get a CPU fan error on boot. I have been into Bios (fan shows as running at high revs) and told it to ignore cpu fan speed etc but it still has error. set pump in AI suite to make sure lowest speed is 60% but still get the error.

any suggestions ??!! is there perhaps a delay in the pump starting when I turn the PC on. Although I never got the error when I had the pump on the CPU FAN and a case fan in CPU OPT.

thanks.

I've heard of some people having issues with the motherboard not liking the fact that it takes a second or so for the pumps to start up.

So just stick pump on case fan 4 pin header then? How come do you think I didn't get the error when I had pump on cpu header and case fan on opt header?

Maybe it was happy with the RPM signal from the fan on the opt header, and so thought there was no problem.

Most 4 pin case fan headers from the motherboard are voltage controlled, not PWM. I know 4 pin should mean PWM, but in most cases, it does not.

Thanks for replies. I'll swop the pump over with a chassis fan then.. this AI suite proving more effort than they show on you tube !!.

Nah its the minimum fan speed, that's what my problem was with a Z77 sabertooth I just set it to ignore on the monitoring settings for minimum cpu fan speed I think it was. I would have to check in the bios but that's what it was for me/ I'll check now and report back

EDIT: Okay so took a quick look and under Monitor I set Cpu Fan Speed Low Limit to ignore in my bios I have an Ek predator unit btw that was the solution for me, FYI The fan control software is the only thing worthwhile in the ai suite but it's not needed , everything you need can be found in your bios, ai has a lot of false error reports in my experience so I don't bother with it

Min fan didn't fix. Seems it was simply delay in pump startIng causing no read on cpu fan header. Moved to cha fan header and put fan on cpu header and all sorted. Ditched ai suite - seems it's just a glitchy bios interface

The pump is sata powered? should run at a fixed speed from pc power on and speed on D5 pumps are set on the rear right?
