What have you done to your car today?

Trying to see what the best option for fitting an AUX input into my car, i have the CD30 in my astra which from reading online doesn't allow for an AUX input to be modified, so i either swap it out for one of the entertainment screens with the DVD player etc or swap it for the CD30MP3 version. I think the entertainment screens look tacky though.

Fitted a simota carbon intake which is basically a gruppe m replica. Throttle response seems sharper and it's really loud. Quite a lot louder then I expected. Looks great too.

44.7MPG average on my 60 mile commute to London today...
42.6MPG on the way back home.

Don't think I'll beat the 44.7. Ever. :p

But what is it like with no wipers on? Seen plenty of american car shows with old bangers with rainX and no wipers driving in the rain! Always wondered what their biew would be like! :p

It sheets off if driving in enough speed. Just like this video, go to about 2 mins in,

How long does it tend to last do you know?

Can it survive a couple of car washes like a spray wax, without needing to be re-applied, or will a good go with a wash mitt wipe it all off?

A couple of weeks. Don't rely on it is my approach. And your screen wash will remove it so say you put it on today and it's dry for the next 2 weeks and you have used your screen wash whilst driving to clean the windscreen, and a week later it rains. the effect from Rain-X won't be that strong.

I was thinking about sticking it on my rear screen and taking the wiper off because I thought it would make it look better, but after doing a quick edit I think it looks a bit weird with no rear wiper, so I abandoned that thought. :p

I put it on all the windows, it's just a part of cleaning, the water repellent aspect is just a bonus.

I bought Dodo Juice Clearly Menthol for cleaning my glass. I haven't used it yet though...

It obviously doesnt have rain repelling properties (at least I assume it doesn't) but that would be nice to have!

You can get screen wash which keeps it "topped up" - not sure if it works though. It smells like the worlds cheapest red wine too, which is odd

I love the yellow bottle rainx glass cleaner.

The effect lasts about a week and is very fast to apply, just spray on and wipe off like any glass cleaner.
I normally do it twice for an extra layer.

I can leave the wipers off in heavy rain on the motorway, the water just rolls off.

Used the yellow 2-in-1 RainX on my dads windscreen and didn't bother wiping it off..

That was a mistake, spots everywhere and very difficult to remove :p

Use it on my own and it's great.
