Care to link me the websites you've been looking at, except for DRC of course.
http://thecycleclinic.co.uk/ - Malcolm loves the kinlin 31t and 22t, so much so he sells them under his own name
^^ and wheelpro.co.uk ebook & DCR... wheelsmith.co.uk is good too but doesn't do Kinlin (I don't think?).

Cool thanks. 19mm internal width if pretty wide! Sheldon suggests 28mm minimum for those

Wheel diameter info on sheldons table is quite out of date as most 17mm-19mm inner rims now are aimed at people running 25mm tyres but also list 23mm as compatible... Nobody seems to mention problems with running 23mm's quite wide (like hinted at by sheldon). If only he was still around! RIP.

About to commute home and forgot to pack a non-thermal & non-windproof jersey. Steaming! Stick a fork in me. I'll be done.

Damn. The only thing worse than being caught, is when you get caught trying to be sneaky about it all :p:p

Last weekend I went to my parents with the kids and left her indoors... indoors. I had been planning to cycle to my parents' place and back, as the original idea was for just me to go, but things changed and all of a sudden I was taking the kids and not getting to ride 80odd miles over the weekend. I really wanted to cycle a bit round where my parents live and I was damned if I was going to miss a whole weekend, so I decided I'd take my bike with me. My bikes live in an Asgard box, so if I could get one out of there she wouldn't notice, as there was no way she'd spot that the bike rack had gone from the shed. So I did all the packing, got everything in the car, and then somehow managed to get the rack fitted and the bike on the back of the car without her noticing anything untoward. I got the kids ready and we said our goodbyes in the living room. I put the girls in the car. One of them asked why my bike was on the back so I shushed them before the wife heard. I was sat in the driver's seat. The key was in the ignition. SHE OPENED THE FRONT DOOR. She wanted to check that she hadn't left her house keys in the car. She saw the bike on the back of the car, but didn't say anything, I just got a look. We found her keys and then I drove away and said NOTHING.

Marriage. Seriously.

Ah ace thanks. I'll take a wee look. Didn't realise that was now the case. Ok. :) I need to look around and see what possible then, and what other nice rims are available.

What's the general benefit to wider rims?

I run 23mm conti GP4000s on my wheels with 19mm internal and they are spot on. 28 would just cause a lightbulb bulge from the rim.

Cool. I will bear this in mind as I go looking :)

Yeah...I saw that and checked the names on the Strava OcUK club... at least it didn't match there but I guess it doesn't rule out someone knowing the person involved. Very sad :/

Back safe and sound from Mallorca.

Indeed we heard about this as a couple of the guys from my group knew a few from that other group.

Horrific news all round. Sad times indeed.

On a brighter note from myself - a superb 3 days. Totally recommend it to anyone to go. Amazing roads, great weather, good hire bikes, well maintained etc.

Cyclist heaven - tons of bikes and loads of riders. Cars and traffic are generally very good and lenient on the roads.

Loads of pictures and video footage to follow.

Day 1 - https://www.strava.com/activities/529199430

Superb late afternoon ride - lovely run, great views at the light house and really decent day to start with.

All the boys together - me on the left in the white top

Brutal! - Sa Calobra is a monster - no doubt about it. Great day out but man it was hard work at the end of the day on the way home. Fantastic views everywhere you look. Amazing stuff.

Picture at the bottom of Sa Calobra eating some pasta before going back up! Nicest lunch spot ever??

Set a new fastest speed record 54.8mph on one of the descents. Also top 8 out of 22,000 people on one section!:D:D

Day 3 - https://www.strava.com/activities/530670560

Great run - a few of the strong riders went to Puig Major but we didn't think we had it in us, so 4 of us went a shorter ride for the last day.

Overall, fabulous time 132 miles, 12300ft of climbing and 5000 calories.

Can't wait to return.

Lomond Roads is the club that touch is out there with just now so the poor guy was indeed from that group. They are out cycling in seperate groups doing different things so not sure if touch was present on that ride, but regardelss, it is horrific and the last thing you could ever possibly want to hear from a group of guys going out and doing what they love with their mates.

Cannot even imagine what his wife and kids are going through :(

Terrible news, thoughts to you all out there touch if you see this and to the family of the guy.
