Advice Needed - Deaf Neighbour

Thank goodness my Mum hasn't got neighbours because she has her TV on 100.
Even before my operation last year when I was totally deaf in my right ear, I still had to put my hands over my ears, now it is unbearable and I take my earplugs with me.

I would offer to take her to get a hearing aid, seems specsavers do them, although having seen the price, min £495:eek: maybe headphones are the way ahead!

Specsavers did my first hearing test, I took the results to the GP who referred me to a Consultant and 3 years later I got a hearing aid.
The OP will have killed her by then.

Think of the opportunity you have:-

Home cinema
Play the drums
Learn electric guitar at gig volume
Party til early hours

Does she wear a hearing aid? If she does then a loop system my help-:

You could also try contacting action on hearing loss for some guidance-:

Also, try contacting your local council/social services department. Many areas have a Sensory Support Team who should have people who could provide equipment (Assistive Listening Devices) that may help. Such as

Make sure you ask her permnission before making a referral...

go round for a cuppa.
connect your phone to her wifi.
everytime she puts her tv on throw porn on it through your phone.

I had this problem before:

1) Get two airhorns.
2) Place on over each ear.
3) Squeeze until deaf.

Problem solved.

keep her bound and gagged under the stairs, feeding her a diet of bread and water until she learns not to be so inconsiderate...

Pop round 'to check she's okay', clock the make/model of the TV and order a remote off the t'interweb. Turn it down/mute it as you see fit! She'll never know!!

Ironically, most hearing aids are not very suitable for elderly people.

They are too small and fiddly and unless they have somebody else to help them deal with them they will soon give up on them.

Wireless headphones is a better idea.
