Hi one and all, my first ever post, here goes.... i have just bought the r9 390x, only had a tiny tinker but when i boot up and play any game, it runs very smooth for around 3 seconds and then does a little pause, continues to do this... like i said ive only had a little tinker as for some strange reason my radeon settings after install dissapear after restart which has taken up my time as ive put it down to that. I have used a couple of programs to wipe all gfx card drivers off but does the same. Has anyone had similar problems to this

Hello delahartly, welcome to the ocuk forums. Ill move this thread into our general hardware section. That way you might get more answers to help you with your issue.:)

if ya had a problem when installing the drivers i would run "Display Driver Uninstaller" which is a program that removes all traces of the drivers, then do a fresh install first to try and get them installed properly.

There was no issue with installation, everything seemed fine, it was only on restart that the radeon settings vanished. Ive tried display driver uninstaller, revo and a few other basic uninstallers, ive done a registry cleaner afterwards. Still no joy

Turning off "power efficiency" might solve your performance issue but of course you need the settings to access it. Since you've already used DDU, I don't know what else to suggest (other than a fresh windows install but that might be a bit extreme :p)

Ive tried that, first thing i done when i got the settings up, power efficiency is for under 16's who arent responsible for the electric bill haha... there is no way a fresh install is happening, thanks for your input matey, im thinking that maybe there are some left over registry entries or something like that...

I7 4790k liquid cooler, 32gb 1600 corsair vengence, asus mobo, evga 750 psu, 3x ssd's, 1tb sata. Win 10 pro 64.
I had a hd7950 3gb card with no issue at all, great card that was. Radeon settings always there even the change from ccc to crimson was fine, i just had a framerate issue hence the upgrade. All temps are nice and low
