Hi, I'm looking at upgrading my graphics card, right now I've a Zotac GeForce GTX 970 Gaming Edition that has conveniently started having issues just after the warranty ran out. Funny that. Anyway I'm not looking to replace the rest of my rig even if it's a bit behind the times. All I need is a new graphics card that will play well with this setup:

Intel core i5 4690K @ 4.20GHz CPU
MSI Z97S mboard
Avexir Core Blue Series 8GB RAM

Budget is somewhere in the £150 region give or take £10. Thanks in advance.

Anything that you get new within your budget is going to be quite a step down from a 970 unfortunately. You maybe better going second hand and/or selling your 970 as spare/repair to increase the budget.

In your current budget, new, you would be looking at an AMD 380 or GTX 960, the 380 probably being the faster option (which is only about 280x/7970 performance that you can pick up for ~£100).

Second hand you may be able to get something like a R9 290 (try to avoid the ref cooler ones) or gtx 780 if you are lucky.

as above £150 wont get you 970 performance however second hand will get you another 970. Also try contacting Zotac they may help you out. tbh i would go down the route if Zotac wont help you out of selling the 970 as spares or repair (likely to get £50) then get yourself a second hand 970. Look at EVGA ones as i know the warranty is transferable (others might also be)

As above, you'd be hard pushed getting anything 970 equivalent for that price. If it's not long aftet the warranty has run out, just email them on the off chance and they may well treat you right.

It can't be two years old already?

Just try the warranty see what happens, Zotac might offer to replace or repair it for a certain price which will be cheaper than buying a replacement. What is wrong with the card anyway if you don't mind me asking?

All Zotac Graphics cards have at least 2 years warranty in the UK according to the Zotac website, so it cannot be out of warranty yet, unless it wasn't new when you bought it.

Thanks for that for some reason I thought it had a 18 month warranty. Just checked and you're right. Doh!
