But it came back something chronic :)

Stereotypical case of needing something sensible. This was actually the first car I looked at, and more to the point, I'd been saying to myself that I wasn't going to buy an Evo. So I bought a really clean Evo. Covered just over 1,000 miles now and can't say I regret it!

61,000 VIII MR FQ340. Stock besides EBC Blue pads and grooved discs.

Now that looks like a real clean example, i've always had a soft spot for the Evo 6 & 8!

Thanks, yeah it was too good to pass up on. The previous owner was a bit of a collector. It's seen it's fair share of track time, but has been cared for meticulously. It's had a small fortune spent on it. From what I can remember from memory in the last year:

Complete suspension refresh
New AYC pump
Cambelt and water pump inc 18,000 service interval items at CR1
New HKS SuperDragger exhaust
Front end respray and under seal

I've also just had Xpel Ultimate paint protection fitted to the entire front end.

I love it!

How well does it go?

Chris at CR1 says it drives like one with half the mileage. Also that it feels quicker than a lot of 360s, but he doesn't seem to think it is mapped. I was tempted to get it on the dyno but somethings are just better left to the unknown in my experience! But to answer your question, it goes like stink lol.

Very nice, always fancied one but never been a fan of the interior. You've got a really nice example there though

It's typical Japanese, rattly, ok to look at but nothing you'd write home about. It doesn't take long to put that to one side mind you lol

Nice clean example there, how much if you don't mind me asking as they seem to be up and down every month.

I'm awaiting the Mal_X thread derailment any minute now as you've actually bought a Evo instead of dreaming about it.

Nice choice and it looks really clean.

I loved my Evo's the first one I got was an VIII in 2003 (in yellow) and I was hooked, I bought a new one every 2-3 years since then. Gutted they've stopped making them :( the power/performance to price ratio was fantastic. Have fun!

Don't you need to know if the engine has been fettled with for insurance purposes?

lol! He's taken to Lancer Register from what I can tell. 13,995, honestly I think he could have gotten more for it. The prices seem to be going up at hte moment.

This is my first, so I wasn't sure what to expect :D:D

Yes, as a matter of fact. But not sure what this is in response to? Unless you're talking about it being mapped. It's not. It's not unusual for 340s to feel quicker than their 360 counterparts. Most FQ360 don't make the power, where as 340s normally make in the region of 350-360. Funny old world!
