What Corsair AIO for 400c?

Hi i was wondering what Corsair AIO cooler i should buy for my Corsair Carbide 400c case?

I was looking at the H115i is it to big?

Also i have noticed in all pictures of Corsair products the fans always seem to have white leds, is this just in the picture? because the fans that came with my case do not light up :S

I need some good all round case cooling because i noticed my GTX970 is running a bit hotter in this case than it did in my old one and i dont have the confidence or knowledge to make anything custom and would rather a Corsair AIO because my case is on show and you will see it and i want it to match -OCD- :P

I'd get a 240mm rad for the top, one of the slimmer ones, like the H100i (not the H105 - I don't know if the thicker variety will fit that case).

And a second 140mm case fan for the front to help with GPU cooling. Or buy 2 x 140's and replace the one the case brings.

If the rear 120mm fan sucks, replace it too.

Ok thanks for the info, there does seem to be a lot of space in the case so could probably fit any and there is not a big price diffence so am i not better off getting the bigger?

Also i notice people sandwhich their radiators between 4 fans, what is the reason for that?

My GTX 970 idles at 59c in this case so could definitley do with some extra cooling

does it need to be Corsair?

Have you considered the Antec H600 or H1200 at all?

4 fans gives slightly better air flow/pressure and can result in better temperatures, but it doesn't mean that it always does.

The idle GPU temp is easily solved by setting a custom fan profile through MSI Afterburner. On default settings, the fans don't spin till temp reaches 60C or thereabouts. Soon as you create a custom fan profile with minimum fan RPM of say 40%, the card's idle temp should drop below 30C.

There isn't that much room at the top of that case. I can tell just from the pics. Look at the top fans in the pics and add the thickness of another fan below those to know where a 25mm thick rad would end up. The H105 is 37mm thick. Not saying no chance of it fitting, but don't assume it will, make sure before purchase. It usually depends on the motherboard heatsinks and RAM height as well. There'd only be a few degrees difference really between H100i and H105, temp-wise. Aesthetically, you will see more of your motherboard/RAM with a slimmer rad as well.

Can vouch for Ace Modder's suggestion - I bought an Antec H600 for an i7-6700K and its performance is excellent. The larger H1200 will be even better. And they are the slim variety (25mm).

8-Pack is also fond of the Asetek/OcUK TechLabs AIO's.

Yes mate i want Corsair because all of my things are gen3 corsair, its a corsair build, plus i love the brand and it is on show so dont mind paying extra even if it is for something that is not as good :)

Hey Danny, i read that if you do that it will kill your fans quickly, is tha true? anything to worry about?

It's not something that worries me - if fans fail quick running at 40% they'd have to be rubbish to begin with. I prefer lower idle temps (unless I want to use the PC as a heater).

ok im going to give it a go, this is a few pics of my pc so far, just so you can get a idea of what space i am working with.

I wanted to add a second GTX 970 and a new power supply at some point and just fill up the spaces for fans and im happy, ooo and a Corsair Strafe RGB keyboard lol.

sweet is the 105 the same size radiator as the 115?

Als could you tell me a adhd user who can never concentrate on new stuff, how to adjust them fan speeds with msi afterburner safely before i get in a tizz with it haha :)

The H115i is slimmer at 26mm but it's 280mm long not 240mm and according to the case specs it will only fit in the front.

So it depends if you mind it on the front. If you are going to use Afterburner to set up a custom profile, that will help with GPU temps anyway (but obviously case fans with direct airpath to the GPU would be even better).

Open Afterburner, click Settings, click Fan tab, tick "Enable User defined control", and then position the squares on the graph however you like. This is a shot of mine:

Then just click OK.

Oh and in the General tab of Settings, also tick "Start with Windows" and "Start minimized".

Cheers mate, i would have been in a flap with that for ages lol, and yeh i think i would liek it better on the front, what is the benefit of people sandwiching the radiator with 2 fans either side? is there any point or just overkill?

Shame i'll have to lose the one fan on the front i have already, so i suppose i'll buy the 115 and then buy 2 x 120mm to go on the top, maybe a white led one i can put on the back and then put the back one and 1 extra on the roof of the case, then all slots will be full then i think.

Ahh just read that you can fit 140mm fans on the roof, that changes things, i'm definitely going to get a 115 now and buy 1 extra 140mm fan to go on the top and i think that will be enough :)

I noticed in all pictures they show of the case they show the fans that come with it and the fans on the coolers as being white led, bit naughty, i spent ages trying to find out why they wasn't glowing up.
