I'm all for electric cars but....

The future is actually cars as a service: fleets of autonomous electric vehicles operated through companies like Uber. Take out you smartphone and order you driver-less car, get in, get out, get on with your lives and never a need to worry about getting oils changes, changing tires, not drinking and driving, getting that work email sent on your way home etc.

While many modern power stations have carbon reducing systems lets not confuse this with Carbon Sequestration and Storage systems, which are currently not commercially viable unfortunately.

This is not quite true, I've been working on the Peterhead Carbon Capture and Storage project in Scotland.

It's on hold at the moment though because the government has pulled the competition funding, but I still believe it is commercially viable and a must for the future, same as Swansea Tidal Lagoon.

I can only assume you've never actually met a human being if you belive that to be true.

I am sure there are many corporations that are working on this "Subscription" model, (Not just for cars but for everything else too, and that is the point)

But for me it is a vision of Hell!

I would rather civilisation collapsed than go down that route! :(

i cant speak for anyone else but id definitely be shagging in the back of one at the end of a night out.

On the same lines, I'm surprised that local authorities don't have many more "battery banks" in convenient locations like local shops (the places designated in my area are ones I don't visit so I take them to work). People end up throwing batteries in general waste which is awful for the environment. :(

And that (well and the other one for solo journeys) is why a window tinting company is a great investment right now :)

Joking aside though we probably aren't that far off the Total Recall-esque Jonny Cab being a real business.

like i said the only person who would think a driverless cab system would work is one who hasn't met humans.

especially drunk humans.

Probably more likely in areas with high population density, less likely in rural areas. Shades of grey in between.

If you're reliant on your car to go anywhere, booking one every time you want to go out will be a pain in the arse. If you only use one occasionally then hiring a driverless car to pick you up and take you where you need to go will likely be cheaper and more convenient.
