But check card length VS the case its going in and if you have a half decent 550W'ish PSU>

Its a good GPU but it depends on what you need it to do.

The performance gap between the 390 and the 380 is quite huge...especially for dx12.

At 2nd hand 380 shouldn't be much more than £100, as I have seen them as low as £120-£130 new when on sale.

Hes offered it to me for £150, im looking to play Arma 3 and iRacing mostly, i dont play many games like Assassins creed and witcher so not to much happening on screen

You can buy a brand new XFX 4gb 380 for £169 here so £150 strikes me as overpriced second hand. Especially with the new cards due to launch.

In my experience they make good kit, yes.

If you can stretch to the money in your title then go for a 390 though.

£150 is too much, my R9 380 only cost that brand new. I have seen used 390's for £185.

To be fair to your friend he's properly not like us who stare at tech porn all day (lol), so he might not be aware of the current market value of the 380, as initially it was priced at around £180 mark even for the 380 2GB if I recall correctly.

I only paid £150 brand new for my Sapphire 4GB 380.

Used 390 or wait for new tech if I were you.

If it was a hard max of £200 I'd buy an r9 380x. But if not I'd stretch to a 390.
