I have just built a gaming pc and been having problems with my asrock z170 gaming k4/d3 i think 2 of my dimm slots are dead and i cant use it in dual channel so im looking for another motherboard is anyone using the asrock z170 fatality k6 have you came into any problems with it and how much better is it than the k4 and what difference is there between the two apart from looks

Specs at the minute:
I5 6600k
Asrock z170 fatality k4/d3
H100i cooler
250gb samsung 850 evo ssd
Corsair vengeance pro 16gb 2x8gb already sold to my mate as i will be getting a ddr4 motherboard.
Not yet bought a graphics card but it will be a r9 380/380x or gtx 970
NZXT Noctis 450

Thanks Ash

Mickyflinn i have done everything it could possibly be and still no change..no bent pins,re seated cooler & cpu twice, tried changing ram timings, updated bios, reset bios back to factory settings, cleared CMOS & more

I put one stick of ram in every slot one at a time in the first two slots and it works. in the second two slots i just get a black screen with the power led blinking on the monitor.

Going to buy a new motherboard as it could only be the two other slots are dead unless i have missed something..

Thanks. Ash

If this is a new build why not RMA the board rather than spend money on a replacement.

The board was new and sealed off ebay from a private seller not a shop i got it cheap so im not losing too much i will put it back on there for spares..

Plus i want to go down the ddr4 route as i heard ddr3 can cause damage/problems to the skylake processor over time.

I will be buying the new board from scan computers with 36 month warenty.

Asrock boards are hit and miss don't expect quality from them.

You can say that about any manufacturer. As for quality they have come a long way since the old days of flakey boards and their boards these days are very good.

Ash90, there's a review here and here of the board you are interested in. Seem's like a nice board for the money.
