Caught on CCTV: Moment woman attacks member of the public

The old guy was hanging onto the door and got in the way of it.

Elderly doesn't mean infallible. Young guy parked in the wrong place and appears to start an altercation with the old guy (without knowing what's been said he's clearly in the wrong). Old woman tries to grab his hoody (through his head but misses?no one goes goes to grab something with a closed hand). She didn't deserve such a punch but it does appear to be a reflex rather than calculated. Old guy doesn't notice woman's state and proceeds to go for the driver almost getting run over in the process. Not really like the guy had a choice there. Either punch another person trying to get away or hope he moves out the way once he's realised.

Maybe I'm too forgiving but 3feet to me is not a close miss it's a complete miss. I don't think I'd have even noticed that.

There's blame all around here.

Pure interest are you friends of the elderly couple? Or just signed up to argue on this particular thread? :D

A meter is a lot of space. If the article didn't state that was their issue, I wouldn't have a clue what they were acting out over.

I'm not convinced people are logically thinking about this situation.

Agree with both of you about the illogical position of a blanket 'You don't hit women'

There was the case recently of a Solicitor who just got married then lost his job, his new wife (who wanted to be married to a solicitor) was so angry she stabbed him in the heart....

The autopsy showed he had over 60 previous injuries over his body

I bet he believed you shouldn't hit women as well

Maybe she didn't like solicitors.
Everytime she had a bad day she could go home and hit a solicitor.

To be honest I had no idea what set it off originally. I assumed the driver had blocked a shops door. So thought he was a bit of a prat.

Guess that wasn't the case.

Friend of the couple?

I think you need to take another look at the video footage before you even reply again.

She intentionally tried to hit the driver with a closed fist. She missed, he reacted via a reflex - but yet as per usual, she did no wrong...

If you still can't gather the concept - here's a still image for ya! ;)

What the **** are you on about??? Nobody has ever denied she tried to hit him you massive Do not Insult another member

Try to read comments properly before you post, or at least get your carer to read them for you.

And for ****'s sake watch the alternate angle footage before replying.

Well, everyone wants equality until they have nothing further to gain for it. Women need to understand that having a V, doesn't give a free pass to beat on men. I'm glad she got hit, not going to lie.

Would have been easier to restrain or push her on her arse though.

Better yet, avoid these situations entirely. That works for me!

I don't understand this illogical response. I'm not for hitting anyone, but why is it that there's this almost universal belief that someone is "SCUM" for hitting a woman regardless of the circumstances?

Why isn't some one "SCUM" for hitting a man that is less physically capable? Most people would laugh at the situation and say something along the lines of "well that's what he gets for trying to start something".

Look, I already changed my stance later on the first page, and for the record I don't think anyone should be fighting anyone really, we're not cave men anymore who need to resort to violence at the first sign of trouble.

Nice no points but brings insults. Always a sign of winning an argument :D.

So if some liar accuses me of saying the woman didn't try to hit the thug when I've categorically never said anything of the sort, I'm not allowed to ask him for clarification and I should just let it go lol??

That kind of loose attitude to facts maybe explains why so many of you are still basing your opinions on only half the story.

Asking for clarification is fine. That you mentioned his apparent 'carer' and referred to him as a mixture of a womble and a **** suggests it was nothing more than attack on him. Iirc it's called an ad hominem.

We've all seen the videos from both angles so we have exactly the same information as you yet we come to wildly different versions. As such either you have more information or your view is biased. Which brings me back to the query of whether you know the elderly female or male.

How could it be "nothing more than an attack" when I was correcting very significant falsehoods?? Again, do you not regard getting the facts right as important??

You know full well that that's blatantly untrue. Most people on here have only seen the original footage. If this wasn't the case they wouldn't still be trying to claim that the couple started the physical altercation obviously, since the extra footage clearly proves this isn't the case.

And no, I have no connection with them. Why on earth should I?? Because I think breaking someone's jaw is an unacceptable response and I happen to think facts are quite important lol?? Away from the unreal parameters of Internet forums you'll find that most people share that view.

Whilst the guy is quite clearly a ****, she did swing first. I don't care who you are, if you take a swing at someone you should expect them to defend themselves. It's instinct most of the time to fight back.

They want equal rights, they can have equal lefts ;) and all that...
