What are people using for music playback these days? I'm using Clementine, which I like, but I was wondering what other folks were using. It's been years since I looked around, so I'm out of the loop as to new things.

I like the way Clementine organizes my playlists, it seems to do it better than Winamp or AIMP, but the lyrics display panel seems to be not as good in the latest version. I need a lyrics facility so I can sing along badly.

So what do you use, and would recommend?

another vote for musicbee, but increasingly I'm just using spotify or google music and not buying as much music.

I use JRiver, which is a paid product, but it is the best audio/video player for windows bar none. You should check out the demo.

If you have high end hardware it will be up to the task and blow your mind.

Next best thing after JPlay (also paid) is Foobar2000 which is very nice and can talk directly to your sound device via ASIO or Kernel streaming and has nice "nerd" features like tweakable latency and so forth. Nothing compares to JRiver though. That player is better than sex.

If you don't have 800 squid + in your audio setup just get Foobar2000. It's free and you won't notice the difference.

Also take a look at services like Tidal (which works best in windows through Chrome, which conveniently supports WASAPI to stream directly to your soundcard or DAC.

I might try that Musicbee. A problem I find is that only Clementine can organise my library properly. Either that or I'm not using other software properly.
