US: 11.22.63

Enjoyed the show, but it did leave me wondering if he could have just done it completely differently.

Why did he go back to 1960 and wait 3 years when he could have just gone back, killed Lee Harvey Oswald then returned to present day immediately and see what the outcome was? James Franco determined Oswald was working solo so it's not like the CIA would put a different shooter in place

It's possible the first guy had done that and it hadn't worked.

I don't believe he ever shot him. The answer is, yes he should have done. It's a no lose situation to be in. Considering time resets itself everytime you to back.

The real answer, is had he done, we wouldn't have gotten eight episodes of a tv show :D

If it was me going back I'd forget Oswald and stand on the verge opposite Zapruder and film what happened in the Secret Service car directly behind JFKs.
I like that particular theory.

There is the Orville Nix? film from the other angle but too low quality really to make anything out like that :S

Just finished this last night. Great series.

Did I miss something though, how did JFK's secret service know that he'd saved them? I thought everyone thought he was one of the shooters?

...and... it seemed odd to me the LHO didn't bother with a second shot as someone was shouting his name from the back of the room. Take the shot, mission accomplished.

Wasn't it simply because the portal/door was only open to that particular time !!

Finished it couple nights ago, quite liked the series and would recommend it, Thought it could be cool for another like it but to prevent something/one else and changing history.

As I was watching it, all I could think about was why the guy didn't make some choice long-term investments and he'd be set for life.

Or even buy a storage warehouse and stockpile loads of cars - back through portal and suddenly you have your retirement fund! Mint condition vintage cars.

Saving the presidents life... sounds like too much work to me. Probably says more about me than anything else though!

nice to see my fave King leading lady make a couple of appearances, red and white beauty that she is.

The Dallas police caught him near the murder weapons, assumed he was involved.

The FBI and the Secret Service investigated. The evidence showed that Jake wasn't involved. The FBI decided it would be better if the whole thing was pinned on Jake, Sadie and Lee, as the latter two are dead and America needs someone to blame who will stand trial for the assassination attempt. The Secret Service reached a different conclusion, deciding that the story of an everyday hero saving the President would be more powerful. They let the President know that Jake saved his life.

I'm assuming the book goes in to more detail on this, as it was quite clumsily handled in the show.

True but they both ended very differently. Wayward Pines didn't really finish the story in season one, just some of the characters died but WP carried on, whereas 11.22.63 completed and closed the story and short of making something totally unrelated to the original there is really nowhere to go in a second season.
