Caught on CCTV: Moment woman attacks member of the public

What amazes/disturbs me about this thread is how some have made instant judgments based on appearance, then their rampant confirmation bias takes over. As someone who’s built like a rugby player, has a shaved head and usually looks like a bit of a scruff, I hope I never get attacked by someone in a suit!

You're right. Imagine the woman was a large male teen and the driver was old. People would be laughing at the aggressive thug getting what he deserved.

What is truly frightening is the almost completely polar opposite interpretations that posters here have had of what is essentially the same video 'Evidence' from a single scenario. Let's just remember the posters here are just the average Joe's off the street, the same as the people randomly chosen to do Jury Service...

I genuinely have no idea how some posters here can possibly believe their 'Version of events' after watching the same videos as I have and even fight that corner so vehemently, fabricating 'excuses' by basically making things up to suit their side of the story. It is really chilling when you realise the same thing is going to be happening with Juries watching the same 'Evidence' as each other in what could be far more serious cases than this petty argument.

It is interesting. Although in court I imagine you'd get a bit more information.

What do you think though? Dont think I've seen your opinion.

There's a saying they use around here: Six of one and half a dozen of the other. Which sums it up nicely for me. :D

Whole thing could have easily been avoided if the older pair had simply walked away and not got involved to begin with, it looked to me like they instigated the whole thing by simply returning to 'Have words', the car driver reacted to them poorly, and hey presto! An affray.

The stupid woman definitely got her just desserts from trying to sucker punch the guy though, that I do feel quite certain of :D

Quite a few years ago the BBC got 200 people in the studios for a show but instead they were being setup.
The stage hands setting up the scenery were actors, an argument broke out and one of them got hit.
There were 3 actors: big man, smaller man and a woman.
I think it was Nicky Campbell hosting it and all the audience were given a voting pad that they thought was going to be for something else.
He said:
Press A if the big man hit the small man
Press B if the big man hit the woman
Press C if the woman hit the big man
and so on ...........................

The majority said the big man hit the woman.
When they played it back the woman hit the big man and only one person got it right.

Lots of research studies have shown eye witness testimony to be largely useless in a lot of cases.

On Saturday me and my band mates were discussing an incident we witnessed in a pub on New Years Eve and I was totally sober. I've also become very good at reading people and observing actions from the stage.
To cut a long story short all 5 of us had a different perspective on the event and how it panned out.
I know 100% mine was the proper one - maybe.

tricky that one, what does he do when he goes off camera to the right?

if he didn't do anything then it looks like he gets attacked going back to his car to drive away [which is surely what the couple wanted?] and gets grabbed by the woman and he hits back.

but then if he went off to the right to square up to the husband, then you can see why they got annoyed, although even if he had [wrong decision on his part notwithstanding] the fact is it looks plainly like he was leaving, got grabbed and when swung for swung back with likely more force and accuracy than he would have planned.

Jeez, haven't you watched the video?

Oh sorry.

Yes plainly a trakky thug who pulls up, beats the living daylights out of a defenceless woman, whispers "i'll be back" to her quivering wreck then drives off nearly running over the husband as he recklessly speeds away.

Am i getting the right knee jerk reaction now? :p

You asked questions 'Did he do this? Did he do that? What did he do when he went off camera to the right?' so you haven't watched the video.
If you've only watched the one in the OP you haven't seen all of it.

Right in the kisser.

Just goes to show that its kinda always better to keep your mouth shut in most circumstances and report it to the correct authority, some people will kill/stab/shoot you like its nothing and just walk away, no matter who you are.

So looks like the guy did hit first? Maybe just agressive gesticulation coupled with camera angle? Quite the full on attack by the older fellow though (pre-emtive of further attack?), although it does clear up that between him and the woman she attacked first.

Just goes to show how useful audio can be in a confrontation analysis

I hear he deliberately swerved to hit a kitten too! I have no evidence for this, but obvs from the tracksuit.
