Did I come in guns blazing? I came in criticizing the miniature hysteria that takes place over royal events. As an example pmqts was just cringe worthy last week especially considering there are views for abolishing the monarchy (and no doubt you will point out those who want the monarchy too but that is expected in the forum of blue)

Why not 1) make university education free (provided you pass) and 2) abolish student debt.
The last goodness knows how many PMs had all of their university and private education for free!

David Cameron : Eton = free his university = free the same for Osborne, the rest of the Bullingdon club too.

Society benefits from brighter minds. I could have gone to University to do an MSc but I decided I needed to work. I attempted to go back and do the degree but was offered an ultimatum by the jobcentre, quit or lose your benefits (application was going through at the time of the ultimatum) which when I did quit was told I wasn't entitled to claim benefits.
I've since done a uni course and am looking to go back and get my full degree in the next year or two as finances allow. Point being I am doing what you say, but am of the opinion it should be free. Education is the most important social implement provided the education is truthful of course
