BBC Extra Gear

I was expecting Chris Harris to be the one doing a BBC 3 show. He said a number of times on Twitter he would still be making films for the internet.

Oh lawd. This latest trend where we have to have a second show after the main show is crap. The Apprentice has one, Big Brother has one, the Celebrity jungle thing probably has one, and now Top Gear.

The bottom of the barrel. It's real.

Don't forget the cringe that Talking dead brings and also Sue Perkins hosting Thronecast.

Do people actually watch those things?

I'm guessing after the first series, a few of those presenters are never seen again, "Extra Gear" is a few minutes on their website and there's about six TG episodes per year. I'd rather be proved wrong, but..

Depends how Rory Reid turns out at presenting I guess.

I'll probably give it a look in but i'm going to go into the new Top Gear and everything associated with a low expectation, then it can only impress me.

It's not on the TV, it's online. Meaning it's exactly as 'On the TV' as anything on, say, YouTube is.

Well it's on a BBC TV channel, just one that is available via IP streaming. Are Sky channels not 'on the TV' just because they aren't squirted down your aerial hole?

You have a very old fashioned view of things sir!

Well, his point is that it's not scheduled and clogging up the timings, but on demand - i.e. watch if you want, ignore if you don't - more akin to YouTube than TV.

I just noticed, bbc3 while not a live channel is all there within the sky on demand system (on the tv!) :p I'd never watch it online as such, but will give it a shot if it's right there...
