My 780 just died :(

Died suddenly while playing Hitman. PC will not power on with it installed any more. A bit annoying it went now, about 2 months before new cards are released :/

I think that is what I'll be doing. I don't think theres a lot of point splashing out on a 980ti

i have 2 970's in SLI and that runs most games at max settings

Bake it and see if you can get another few months out of it, it works sometimes.

If it going the tip its worth a try, Google baking graphics cards.

Its worked for me once and I got another 6 months out of it, tried two other times with different cards and it failed but its worth a try.

Didn't have much luck with 780s myself. Had 2, both went pop just before their warranties expired. Both were honored but it still was a massive ball ache.

I'm looking forward to ditching my 780 when the new cards arrive. It's still a decent card in terms of raw performance when overclocked, but it doesn't justify the amount of power it sucks down. It's been a solid holdover card whilst waiting though. Got it brand new for £170 last October when MSI found some unsold stock in the back of a warehouse somewhere and sold it off cheap through OCUK.
