While I have a lot of respect for SPCR, their testing criteria sometimes seems to give rather stange results. Mike has very sophisticated equipment and is uses good scientific procedures, so I have no explaination as to why they are the only review site putting down the MP. Maybe it has something to do with the Thermalright Archon cooler being designed for 140mm fans .. maybe the PH-F120MP flow a more tubular air pattern than other fans, I don't know. SPCR is only 'credible' site I've seen claiming AF120 is good. All other reviews I've seen rate PH-F120MP very well, like Thermalbench does. When playing with a couple of these PH-F120MP fans and I found them to be quite good. Combine the number of fans I've used and tested over the years with my picky attitude and I'm not an easy person to impress, and the MP impressed me as being quite good at low rpm.
I also know several other reviewers both active and retired who are using PH-f120MPs and love them even more than I do.
SPCR shows street price of $23.00 when it is really $14.99, even on Phanteks website/shop.
But let's look at the SPCR chat. Take note that SPCR has AF120 quiet as one of their top fans .. and the AF120 is known for very low airflow performance, high price and is generally dislike by those who have used it. Chart shows PH-F120MP being 2-4c warmer than known top fans (like GTs) down to 15dBA, that at 12-13dBA temp jumps 9c while everything else tested is only changing 2-4c. Why the huge change for MP?
But if you want the pretty much undisputed best 120mm fan, get Nidec Servo Gentle Typhoon fans. Scythe and Nidec parted ways a few years ago, but others are now selling them. They have a 550-1850rpm PWM model out now.
Here is CoolingTechniques testing of Gentle Typhoon and PH-F120MP

Compare their data at same rpm. Please let me know what you think of their comparison versus SPCR. I'm curious to see how others interpret the data.
