I have no idea why but my setup has started stuttering a fair bit, and poor performance, no temp problems, or driver updates.

running 4k, Elder scrolls Ive turned settings down to medium and still poor.

any idea's ? only thing i think ive done recently is overclock my cpu to 4.5Ghz.

could that be a problem?

Is the stuttering being caused by your head dipping as your misses hits you over the head with a frying pan after she found the 2 titan x GPU receipts..
As this would also explain the reason why you feel a bit confused..

^lol a very likely cause. It may be worth it to check inside the case. She has likely removed them wrapped them up and sent them back. IGPU performance could be the cause here.

Seriousness lol. What kind of stutter? Fps drops, etc?
Does it run fine with a single card or just SLI?

DDU the drivers and install the latest is the first thing to try.

frame rate, ping, feels like bottlenecking imagine moving forward in the game then a momentery split second lock up, every 5 seconds are so.
I restart the pc and it goes away, then other times it's ok.
I've even upgraded my broadband to 200 Mb becasue i was suspicious it was lag issues. to no avail

DDU the drivers first and as stated return cpu back to stock just to check. I had my old 3770k to 5ghz on games. Didnt have an issue.

No other problems, temps fine etc? No mad RAM usage, hdd etc?

Whats the GPU usage and power usage at these times? irratic, low etc?

If you've changed overclock settings for the cpu you may have inadvertently changed settings around speedstep/ eset/ power saving type stuff and the cpu clocks and cpu volts may be changing up and down as you game.......

This a MAJOR factor I found to be a MASSIVE culprit of SLI stutter on 780tis and 980tis in my recent builds. On my current x99 980ti SLI rig I run the free little "full throttle" app for all games so I make sure I get max clocks and volts and performance for games but everything clocks down cpu wise at idle. A golden little utility you should try perhaps.

The problem is a Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H.The 2X8PCI-E 3.0 bottleneck your cards in 4K.I had the same issue, with some games in 4K.I had to go back to x79([email protected] 8pack stuff) from z97 ([email protected]),and i can say no any stutter anymore in 4K.

Strange that one I have never had any sil issues at 4K with a DC on a Z97.

But I have had a lot of problems with nvidia drivers and sil just lately.

Thanks , I'm looking to upgrade when the new stuff comes out so hopefully,
I'll lose the bottleneck when I have 40 lanes. :D
