Hey guys,

I bought a AMD Radeon HD 7970 second hand from the MM prob around 18 months ago. The card has completely died. I noticed the display ports started to fail and finally last night the DVDI slot also packed in.

I doubt it... But is there anything i can do? I heard some companies offer a life long warranty on some of their cards? I've never OC'd it.

Whats the brand?
Might be worth getting in touch with the original owner as if it is still in warranty you'll almost certainly need proof or purchase.

The oven?

Yes make 4 balls of tin foil to sit on, bake for 12 minutes, turn oven off and open the door to let the card cool down for 15 minutes, as you could brake a soldier while its hot, fit cooler back on and test, if does not work you can try it again @220c for 12 minutes.

If still does not work sell it on ebay for parts or not working.

This worked for me to a certain degree. The started artifacting and this steadily got worse. The oven trick removed the problem completely.. for a couple of months, then it started coming back.

Sold on ebay as faulty.
