Stem Cells To Reactivate The Brains Of The Dead

Nobody knows what happens after we die, which is why we need research such as this

I'm thinking about the new robocop movie. Re-animated brain in a robotic body

the brain shuts down and you cease being you

how long after that it can be brought back before it completely degrades, but at the moment when all that electrical activity has stopped you're pretty much already 'dead'

I never thought that when I mouthed "You Brain Dead Moron" at another motorist that wronged me that it might actually be true !

if the person comes back and says he's been to heaven where you get to spend eternity in the playboy mansion driving ferraris it might.....suicide rate would go up :D

Even if it's not true I'm in favour of putting adverts saying it in the Sun and on ITV.

I can't work out if these people are actually dead, or if they're in a coma on life support. Does anyone know?

EDIT: Just saw this in the comments of the article

Did some of you not read the article? They are using BRAIN dead patients. Brain dead and dead are completely different. When they are brain dead the heart and all the organs are still working so all they have to do is "re-wire" the brain.

So they're not actually dead.

It would be the end of organ transplants or at least severely reduce the amount of available organs. More research would have to be done into growing them.

I'd be very surprised if memories were still intact unless the brain was brought back soon after? Could be unbelievably valuable research though for helping brain injuries and conditions like Alzheimers.

well brain dead means brain activity has stopped its not started rotting away./

so if its undamaged and the connections re all still there most of it should come back.

any loss or personality change will be from damage

I think they should try and bring life to Wayne Rooney's brain first. If that works anything is possible.

Sadly zombie apocalypse isn't reasonable justification for firearms covered by section 5 :( (although many prefer .22LR for that purpose due to noise levels).

i thought .22lr was due to being able to carry literally thousands of rounds on you as opposed to heavier calibers?

at least that's how i'd run it, something like a henry lever action for that zombie west vibe+big mag capacity+lightness for medium range kills, or maybe the boring option of a 10/22 and probably one of the crop of 9mm handguns for when things get 'interesting'.

this is as well as the standard chainsaw duc-taped to a 12 guage 'tactical' edition [maglite duc taped to the barrel and pistol grip stock] that is a must have for any serious badass :D
