Hi,
Pretty sure something screwy is going on here, just run the benchmark app in the division, my settings are 4k and all at ultra and i am only getting 37fps..
Is the correct? My rig is below..

i7-6700k 4.0 skylake
16gig Ram
850 SSD
Geforce GTX 980ti AMP

thx

Sounds about right for a single card at 4k.

You need 980ti SLI for 2160p/60FPS at Ultra settings in pretty much all modern games.

Did you not do any research about this beforehand?

4k hammers frame rates.
Running at 1440p that setup would be a great gaming rig,at 4k however you'll need to turn a few settings down if you want 60fps constantly.

The 4k monitor was a new addition as my old one gave up the ghost and a friend was selling cheap, tbh 4k does not bother me that much, can I just switch off the 4k part for games? As you can tell I am new to this, I can see a resolution setting in the game what do folks feel I should run at?
I have found that there is an optimise mode that has now give me 60fps in 4k but has turned stuff down or off..

It runs beautifully at 1440p with the 980Ti.

You can adjust the resolution ingame in the video options.

The trouble is that monitors tend to look pretty bad unless you use their native resolution, that's your big problem now.

You'd be better off getting a 1440p monitor really.

Yeah the rig isn't the problem, the lack of research on your part is.

Either sell the 4k and buy a 1440p monitor, buy another 980ti for SLI or go into the Graphics Options in the game and select the resolution you want to play in.

Warning: It might not look as nice as 4k.

To try and explain why it's sluggish:

1920x1080 (1080p) is 2.1 Million pixels.

3840x2160 (2160p) is 8.3 Million pixels

So, despite only being twice the linear resolution, that's 4x the amount of pixels that your graphics card now has to generate. That's a lot of extra work.

We're not yet at the point where there is a single GPU that will run 2160p60 on Ultra settings.

2560x1440 (1440p) is a good compromise because it's 'only' 3.68 Million pixels, which a 980Ti can handle very well.

Either that or get a 4k monitor with G-sync.... (which will probably confuse things even more)

you probbly have vysnc enabled in game, turn it off and fps will go higher buy you will get screen tearing and possible stutter depending on how quickly and how much the fps rises or drops.

i.e. leave it on OP and enjoy smooth 60 FPS gaming. That's as high as your monitor can go so no point going higher.
