So who is actually going to buy a 1070 or 1080 ?

Nope, shall wait till next year for the real deal 1080ti, got burnt with this gen with the 980 till I went to 980ti and saw the difference it provided. Also depends on the games, if they don't stretch the cards then you don't need the upgrade.
 
If I only had a single 970 then yes I would be upgrading to a 1080, however as a SLI owner I still have enough GPU power for all the games I play to hit 60fps 95% of the time at max settings, so I'll hang on with what I've got until the 1080Ti.

That should give me at least 60% more GPU grunt on a single card than my two 970's.

60% is a worthwhile upgrade.
 
Gonna pick up 1080 too - the HTPC, currently has gtx760 which is not enough for VR (I have Vive) and my PC has 980ti which is not enough for 4k ;)
So the 980ti goes to HTPC and 1080 goes to my PC.
 
Yes, probably a 970 as long as there is a 10.5" or shorter version...stuff I've read online suggests 10.5" for both cards but taking that with a pinch of salt.
 
No chance, it looks like the x70 cards are moving above £300 now. Hopefully AMD will come up with an equivalent at under £250 otherwise I might wait till 1100/R9 500.
 
Waiting a few months for availability and price to drop and then picking up an Inno3D version of the 1080 to replace my 980.
 
So you're telling me a 1070 will be around the same performance of a Titan X for around £300 or less?

I rarely get close to 144hz on my PG279Q with max settings on new games. That's with a 980Ti.

So I think I will definitely get the 1080. Just a case of whether to get the Founder's Edition or wait for the custom boards...

Aw who am I kidding, I won't be able to wait so I'll get the F.E. as soon as it's released! xD
 
I will get one as i am still on 7950 and want to get a dell s2761 dg but first i want to see some reviews,but i am a bit sceptical 1070 is better than titanx on a 3xx price.Will see.
