So who is actually going to buy a 1070 or 1080 ?

Faster in what?
Most games and the hardware are locked to 90fps so how would you make it faster?
You crank up the settings. AA in particular makes a big difference. As does setting a higher pre-buffer resolution.

from the chart on Nvidia website , the actual game ( not VR ) 1080 is seem to be around X 1.7 time faster than 980
Which is pretty much exactly what you'd expect from 980's in SLI!

I'd advise waiting for independent reviews before even thinking about it, way to easy getting caught up in the hype. Only if you are a VR early adopter would I get excited right now.

Probably a 1080, but will wait for reviews and certainly wont be buying any at gouged launch prices. Will wait a few weeks for the dust to settle. If stock is limited so be it.

If I had a 970/980 i'd consider a 1080 upgrade but it's not worth it for people with 980tis / fury's unless you absolutely must have the latest shiny thing.

I remember the gulf in performance between the 780 and 780Ti, then 980 and 980Ti. So no, i'll wait for the Ti thanks.

Also the reference card looks god awful. Hoping EVGA can smooth those transformer vibes out of it with their new cooler

Count me as one of those early VR adopters. Can't wait to be able to crank supersampling up on Elite Dangerous for example.

Will be getting a 1080 upgrade from a 680 but when is the main question.
Will need a waterblock so without knowing if vendors will be using the reference "founders" PCB who knows what will happen.

Might have to wait out a bit longer and hope EVGA do a hydro-copper with a pure copper block.

Will wait for Asus to release a 10780 Strix and buy that. Only game at 1080p so also want to see what the jump in performance is from my Strix 970.

will be waiting for AMD to release theirs
don't do VR or multi screen so AMD will be better price/performance. probably.

Waiting on AMD otherwise I will see how the 1070 pans out.

If I do get one though it will be EVGA this time as I have always wanted but never owned a card from them.

Waiting for some reviews but most likely preordering a 1080 as soon as they're live. Birthday on the 31st, and i'm still on a 780, so fancy a nice upgrade. Especially considering the rest of my system is so new (6700k, 16gb ddr4, samsung pro pcie ssd)

If the 1070 is as fast as a Ti/Tx when both are clocked and is priced at £300-350 i will get one at launch,if not wil just grab a used 980ti.Really needing more grunt to run 1080p/144hz with nice IQ.

Would consider a 1080 if it was £450,but we all know thats never going to happen :p
