How much do you drink?

Very rarely these days. We don't go to the pub or anything because the price of a pint is just ridiculous plus we don't like feeling like herded cattle in a packed pub. If we go out for a meal I will have a glass or two of wine. I only really have a drink at Christmas and weddings.

I get a few nice bottles of beer in and generally have a couple on a Saturday with the missus.. So about one a week! I never drink during the week, but if I'm out for a meal etc I'll drink more.

I don't drink nightly as it would be too expensive, a bottle of whiskey I can usually polish off in two nights so nightly drinking isn't a good idea financially or for my health.

If it's there I'll drink it, if it's not I won't. :p

I'll have a pint after work or on the weekend most nights. I'd love to have more but I limit myself.

I don't drink to get drunk anymore though, I just enjoy casual drinking.

Up until Monday I'd only had two small bottles of beer since Christmas (when out for a meal) but mate gave me four pack after I fixed his PC and those went down nicely.

I used to have a four pack or get a 3 for £5 ales from Waitrose at the weekend but don't bother now, I don't drink enough water and since I've been making more of an effort I get far fewer headaches and back troubles. Plus I've lost weight from it too.

Usual weekend one or two 500ml bottles of a decent IPA/craft bitter.

Christmas week a bottle of scotch.

Otherwise pretty dry, like many I used to drink a lot, socialising for work and going out at weekends.

Dont drink and wont.

I have an addictive personality and there are a few examples of alcohol abuse within my family.

On this basis.......its never

I'm pretty surprised how little people on here drink really.

Pretty much anything social in my life including the social element of work involves drinking.

What do you guys do with friends when you go out?

I am normally quite an active person, so a lot of my free time is spent at the gym or climbing.

When I do socialize with my friends I am happy to go out with them if they are drinking. For me though its water and orange juice.

Once you get in the habit of not associating socializing with drink, its remarkably easy to forget about it.

It has also saved me a ton of money, I think on another thread I mentioned now much booze was in Singapore when I lived there.

Personally, I may have a drink, but that said I'm quite happy with water.

However I socialise generally during the day so go for coffee instead, less crowded and better quality time to chat rather than shout at one another in a noisy pub.

Besides my evenings are spent doing exercise, or spending family time.

I completely stopped drinking alcohol when I was about 32 years old, just got fed up of waking up feeling like crap, banging headache etc etc.

I can honestly say I don't miss it at all and don't feel like I'm missing out.
I don't go the pub any more either but it's not because of 'temptation', I just have other hobbies that don't revolve ******* £30 up the wall and seeing the same people moaning about the same things and then watching the young 'uns get into a fight over a girl.
