Well this is foreseeable, and not because VR is bad, but because there are a few thousand people with VR gear opposed to the few million PC users.

been calling it for months and months, who gives a damn about VR, I never quite understood all the talk from Nvidia/AMD regarding VR, it's something none of us shouted we wanted, it's the new catch at the minute that's been forced down our throats it would seem.

Just give me a monster card, if it requires a 1000w PSU then awesome.

Lol price / performance and i bet most of those are Nvidia owners hahahahahaha, those people dont know what they want tbh

The thing is price and performance is not a linear scale. the best price-performance cards are always low end offering, do people really want a 950 or 380 GPU, no they want something higher up the stack. Performance costs money, so a high end GPU cans till be bang for buck even if it is expensive.

You need a killer app, and need killer apps to keep coming down the line. Like 3D movies and TVs, it was all the rage after Avatar, but that fizzled out because people just don't like putting things on their faces. Charging them loads for the privilege makes it an even more niche product.

I want VR, but seeing as my current 970 is apparently able to handle it, I'm not that bothered. What I really want is low temperatures and power consumption for quieter operation.
