*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Made it to 15 this morning (woke up too early to leave for work and thought I'd play Destiny instead). Do I immediately switch to defender to start building up that XP? Reading the description and I think the shield playstyle would suit me.
Happy to join any PSN chat, but I'm a complete noob and won't be able to add much yet. ID should be below...

Been watching a few videos on Youtube of first ever runs at VoG. The differing strats and the genuine struggle has brought back a lot of memories.

On a side note now level 28 on Xbone and starting to feel like I am made of something stronger than glass.... :p

I'd like to take part Owen but as usual I likely wont be on until quite late. If you're looking for a player at the time or someone has to leave then fire me an invite and I'll jump in.

I need a VoG run to for the No Time To Explain quest and wouldn't mind blasting through KF hard either.

Personally I'd level the Defender first yeah, as you'll be more useful to teams in strikes and raids too eventually. I made the mistake of levelling my Striker irst and as about as much use as a chocolate fireguard in any events with the guys!

Cheers for the Kings Fall completion last night gents. Not our smoothest (especially totems!) but we got there in the end. Finally got the sword kills aspect of the Exotic Sword Quest completed thanks to Jelly and SolaceFree too which I'm chuffed with as have been sitting on that for 6 months!

I'd be up for that. Dust off Vision of Confluence and some of the VoG armour.

Striker is useful in the raid but only really at oryx and maybe golgorath due to the following:

1) Striker as relic runner (I just find the striker class faster when jumping for some reason - I can be waiting for the tomb ship to drop the vessel off if starting on the left hand side)
2) Can generate a butt tonne of orbs when used with a tether combo. (Hello framerates I knew you so well ;p)
3) Can provide some cover in the pit for the taken round in golgorath if they have the aftershock (i think) perk active

But defender is really the most useful class within the KF raid as the bubbles are pretty much essential to either surviving or provide that extra dps.

Not a problem with the sword quest gimp - I managed to get my hand cannon crucible kills done for unlocking the weekly crucible bounties (for someone who doesn't play a lot of PvP I sure have been doing a lot of it recently) - just glad that 11 sword kill round the other players left us alone to have our own mini game ;p

The guys should be doing a raid this evening if you are up for it (at least this time I do have a totems checkpoint ) .

I think we may even be looking to do a Crota Run at some stage (I need that Crux still :( and also do that flawless raid run for my last achievement)
 
I'd be happy to join you guys on ps4 if you'll have me. Mostly played solo and random strikes so far. I play a level 40 hunter, have 284 light at the mo but working on it. My psn is Synras, feel free to add me.
 
Man I don't know if anyone else has tried this yet.. but Mayhem Clash + Gunslinger + Young Ahamkara's Spine = tripmines and golden guns for days! So easy to get a 2+ K/D every game

Joined the group and ordered a headset that should arrive today for voice comms. I'm a gnat's chuff from 20 now, so getting to 40 as quick as I can is my priority.
Bombarded Krogothz with a load of questions last night which he was very patient with, so I'm a bit more informed on the game now. Looking forward to being useful sometime in the future.
I did see that S8Pete is in a OCUK clan (or guild or whatever they are called in Destiny). Is that an active thing on here?

I joined when it was in its prime, with the likes of OweO, Mid gen, Moe, Corey, Staley and Drunzer were all raiding weekly.
I dont think its as active anymore, i just got lazy and cant be bothered to change

Added tehmoe hopefully that is you! I'm free most days to raid, send a message on psn whenever is best for you. I've got 1 more HM oryx to run this week, but can do normal too.

Ahh sweet, I did get something pop up on my phone I shall accept. Raid wise I'm free all weekend for it, if I do get online today its either for Uncharted or trials. We used too have a post too organise raids but it kinda off died out as people slowly got bored of Destiny. But either Saturday or Sunday after 7pm is fine by me, whatever fits the group best.
 
Added fullfatty into the group chat. I'm pretty sad so will probably be on most of the weekend. Feel free to invite me for some pvp n chill
 
Haha brilliant, seems firefly still crashes your game. In the middle of War Priest, firefly procs on my Hung Jury scout and Destiny crashed!
