Radeon AIB Partners "Frustrated" at AMD

AMD needed to do this, i'm glad they did.

It really was, the sheer amount of unfounded rumors being posted on reputable tech sites is getting out of hand.

Guru3D themselves said in their opening it's an unconfirmed rumor, yet still published it all. Anything for clicks it seems.

Notice he didn't said they will launch Polaris at Computex.
Just that AMD is attending, and there are no problems with Polaris.

He did clarify that they are still on schedule, so that means they should launch within the next month or two.

Every year the same crap. Same crap against AMD when 290 was coming out, same crap when Fury was coming out. And when you point to some that a 3y old card beats all NV offerings they brush it under the carpet.

And can see the mentality of those. Instead of pelting NV with eggs and tomatoes with the false advertisement of the 970 on rop counts etc or the memory issue, they clap and cheer. Saying that "whell no game is using more than 3gb vram".
And as for AMD PR they have to hire some aggressive people. Their products are far superior and they do not sell because of "Ugh NV is better" stupidity.

Even last week a colleague bought a 970 instead of a 390 because it was more expesive so was better. Couldn't explain to him anything because another colleague had a 970 saying "is great". That i am more informed on gpus, meant nothing.
But they all drooled few months ago when I bought the Nano

I know exactly what you mean. AMD definitely need to get better people in for marketing. Even if the 970 was cheaper than the 390, your colleague would have purchased it sighting some other thing.

This is why likely I will get Vega over big pascal myself. But as my stopgap card, I can't be asked to wait for AMD forever if they do not release Polaris price and performance figures before 1070 is out.

Wasn't it "back to school"? I seem to remember massive arguments on here as to when "back to school" could be as it could mean anytime between July and September :p

They said in time for back to school. The two most important months are July and August according to Google and IPSOS-MORI Research.

So June or early July as I said back then is what they need to be able to hit the period and any later they start to lose significant sales.

Edit!!

OFC,my main concern is whether the launch means the OEM release date or the one for AIB cards.

Here is this the source of the supposed October delay:

The chap posting the video is in Africa(looking at the embedded adverts) and the chap who said it was delayed until October is in South Africa.

He is sat in the middle of a zoo.

I hate to be that guy but... "overclocker's dream" ;) versus guy in a zoo.

Cough,we forget to tell everybody the GTX970 only has 3.5GB of full speed RAM! We forgot to tell everybody despite the fact we told everybody the GTS450,GTX660 and GTX660TI did the same.

What a convenient lack of memory.

Or should we start trawling the last 12 to 15 years of PR resources from Nvidia and AMD to see how much dirt we can fling on them.

You should no better than that having been here for 10 years - Nvidia has made their own fubars too.

Or should we believe every negative rumour about Nvidia from random sources - I see plenty of people poo-pooing those here.

Can we now ditch this topic, as all the rubbish has been debunked?

Nope,OFC not. Lets desperately try and put across the guy in the zoo as a more legitimate source than AMD itself and desperately trying to find some way to put down AMD PR while at the same time 100% believing what Nvidia has said and desperately trying to not find anyway to put down their PR.

Don't get me wrong AMD marketing is not as good as Nvidia marketing as they have managed to screw up enough launches, but it shows how desperate some want Polaris to be delayed by trying to say a guy in a zoo is more valid than PR from a company or the CEO of the said company.

I am also not sure why they want Polaris to be delayed since it is not competing with the GTX1070 or GTX1080 THEY WANT TO BUY last time I checked,so their E-PEEN is not directly threatened. Seems really weird if you ask me.

Or is they want it to be delayed since we know that the GP106 and GP107 are apparently not here until Q3 2016 according to Videocardz(so they can have a go at them if that is incorrect not me),so it suits them that it is delayed.

It means they can keep recommending cards like the GTX960,as they can't be seen recommending a Polaris 11 or maybe a Polaris 10.

That is just not cricket.

All the embedded adverts say Africa for that. But if you look at the video date it is weeks before the "exclusive" leaked info on Overclock.net - I expect the guy who posted it saw that on YouTube and decided to post his "exclusive".

Now,my main worry if anything is whether the middle of the year release for Polaris is for AIB cards,or for cards and GPUs integrated into laptops and desktops.

That is the thing AMD is being vague about.

I also see the fud echo chamber is in full effect by some members here.

AMD said middle of the year - so if we don't see Polaris by July it probably is delayed.

Most of use who actually bothered to analyse what AMD said have placed it at June/July for Polaris and that was months ago when we were argueing about it.

I am not sure how that is a delay when we have not even hit June yet.

Its not even middle of the year yet or let alone the Back to School season.

All the people talking about an April release for consumer cards from Nvidia and AMD have quietly shut up now.
