Did Nvidia Hire Online Actors to Promote Their Products?

To be honest I think it would be naive to think that there are not people in the pay of various companies to promote their products on most tech forums. It might be illegal do to so in the UK / US but i'm guessing that the enforcement of the law will be fairly lax and proving that this is happing will be even more difficult if the companies involved are being smart about how they run these programs.

Think about it like this. Companies spend unbelievable amounts on marketing just so that they can further their market share, is this something so out of the ordinary that they wouldn't do it, or too costly? If you don't think a company will do everything under the sun that will make them more money (in relation to the risks), then boy do I have some things to sell you. Way too many people are hopelessly naive about business practices, even on this forum, and even when it's staring them in the face they deny it. Well, just makes them another mark to take advantage of.

As of 2013 they were calling it reputation management.

Somebody spilled ze beans on MS for doing it with the xbone pre-launch.

Isn’t reputation management just another phrase for someone trying to manipulate google searchs so bad news doesn’t appear on the first page of results?
