I've tried, and, I really do manage to. But then we bump into each other and the le sigh ensues all over again.

How long and how distant?

350 miles, 12 years, we have a child. Was always a rocky relationship, but it has chilled out in a nice way since we have been apart for the last, idk 6/7 years? We are intimate, great friends and quite loving. We spend about 4 months of the year together. Both of us have been faithfull for those years (both of us had another relationship before getting back together long distance).

I know, and I agree, though when we are together things are pretty okay. Which, does not sound amazing either... but we're at the 'shall we move back in together or what?' point. I'm really torn on this, I don't like the idea of living together and splitting up again. Mostly because I don't want a repeat of our child going through that again.
