AMD MarketShare back to 30%

Wow surprised tbh usually you see AMD market shares fall around this time when nVidia start showing new cards then all the AMD are doomed threads and posts come out.

Can't wait to see what Vega brings us! And big daddy pascal.

Why would it have fallen when Pascal cards have literally just been announced? These results will have no bearing on Pascal, we'll have to wait till the next set for those.

The up coming Polaris cards is where AMD should do well, they may not be as quick as the 1080 but they will sell a lot more of them.

The thing is...I doubt there are many people willing to spend £600+ or require a card that fast, so I guess the real battleground would be whatever AMD has to offer to fight against the 1070.

erm, they were on 21% last quarter... a raise of 6% in GPU sales doesn't put them on 30% market share

with them not linking to their source material its difficult to know how they think AMD are on 30%

Actually there were some reports a few months back of it being at around 25%.

Great news.

Will be interesting to see what happens with both Pascal and Polaris launches. I would expect AMD's market share goes up some more.

Let's hope AMD continue in the right direction and put reasonable prices on the upcoming gpu's.
I keep thinking back to how they said they don't want to be seen as the cheaper option and that bothers me. I think Fiji was overpriced and hope they don't think increasing prices as Nvidia are doing with stupid excuses is a good thing to do.

As uninspiring as it is to most of us on here there is obviously a pivot towards mid-range cards which sell in volume. If it works out for them then so much the better.

Pretty sure the lower-end Polarii will be around 300$. If it offers GTX 980 level of performance, it will sell like hot cakes. I might pick one up to replace my GTX 980 Ti to last me 'til Vega and real Pascal drops.
