980 Ti's I wouldnt buy new now even at £300 - no want :)

Don't expect any big discounts on brand new titans - just doesn't happen.

Expect Gibbo to get a few batches of 970/980/980ti with big discounts over the next few weeks.

Cant see that happening for a couple of months yet. Maybe September time.

iirc the 780/780ti specials were ages after the 970/980 came out.

So much so I remember people being called crazy because the 980ti was imminent.

Right... so why have Nvidia not compared the 1070 against the 980Ti or claimed that it's faster, as many people are now saying? Mmmm...? Maybe I've missed the slides, but all I saw were 'graphs' (if you can call them that) comparing it to the Titan and 970, not the 980Ti. For some reason they seem to have conveniently left that information out. I wonder why...? I'm all for the 1070 being a Ti beater, but I just can't quite see it happening across the board, not at the price point it's RUMOURED to be coming in at.

1070 > 980TI, best to accept that rather than live in denial.

2GB more VRAM
Far higher clocks
Continual driver improvements, Maxwell will be neglected.
 
thinking of 980ti myself. currently have a 970 and want a better 1440p experience. i never buy top end at release so if the new cards mean this will come down a bit i may go for it

If hardware performance wise the the 1070 is at least already on par with the 980Ti, then there's absolutely no reason to go for 980Ti.

With the 980Ti, you have to put good faith in Nvidia that they won't not bother with optimising performance for old gen card for half year again like they did after they released the 970/980 last time round.
 
I have searched everywhere and also have not seen a 980Ti for that price, or even approaching it. I don't care about the value of my 980Ti (much), but would like to SLI it with a cheap card - they don't seem to exist though.
