Local Schoolboy Vandalizes Several Parked Cars

Gutted mate, hope the little **** gets everything coming to him.

Pretty sure if you were in the head's office and called the police regarding a pupil of the school in Public with a Knife that the police would take notice.

If you take it to court the parents will probably be ordered to pay for the damage, if they can't pay up front they will have to pay monthly until it's settled. I know someone who had to do this.

I can't see the police going lightly on him considering he was carrying a knife. If they don't get him for the damage they will get him for that.

I don't. They raised a disrespectful little ******. The thing about kids is they are products of their surroundings and influences.... from a rough council estate and would never do that.. My dad would have beaten the crap out of me after paying to get it fixed! And rightly so.

That's a little firm. I'd tend to agree that there's more chance of having a dysfunctional child from a dysfunctional family, but to fully blame the parents is wrong.

For instance I have cousins who are brothers and they are totally different people, one is a well rounded guy who wouldn't hurt a fly and the other is, well, you get the picture. Exactly the same upbringing.

I was also from a rough estate and I too would never do that, but I'm not sure what point you're making.

Would you beat your son if he did that? You're as bad as your father is that's the case.

I really hope that he gets what's coming. Give the police some time and then approach the school. Hopefully the head will be decent and not some ***-covering bureacrat.

My dad used to be a head teacher. If someone had come to him with footage like that, clearly identifying one of his pupils committing a crime, he would have called the police on the spot himself.

As I said, the knife will make the police more interested. My parents live in Greater London (Croydon area) and the police seem to be taking a much tougher approach towards knives in their area.

Give the police a couple of days but then I would approach the school directly with the footage.

I would be at the school today. The kid could easily still be carrying the knife.

How would it work if the parents have no money and it goes to court? £1 a week for ever?

I grew up in some crappy areas and was a bit of a naughty kid. I didn't ever damage people cars but I did used to pinch the nice metal dust caps to put on my bike!

Good family and everything was good at home and my parents would give me a smack when i was bad. I was just a bit of a naughty kid but I grew out of it!

I'd definitely go to the school and show them and tell them that you have spoken to the police and are investigating. There's nothing stopping them disciplining the boy and/or contacting the parents.

If they resolve it (pay for it etc..) then you can drop the charges if you want to. That might be enough to scare the runt into not doing it again.

as a kid I've done some crazy things but damaging someones property on purpose was never a thing! :o

kids these days, never mind doing that... why is he carrying a knife? wonder what his parents must be like.

Yup, unfortunately that's something else you've got to be real careful about. If you do have to go to the school, call in advance and get an appointment with the head so you're expected. It also guarantees the head will actually be in when you go there (in this era of 'executive/super heads' they tend to move between schools).

You need to take this to the school as if he's carrying a knife about they need to know about it, how would you feel as you have the footage of him carrying a knife in his school uniform but didn't alert the school and he stabs another student?

just drown the little oik and be done with it.

maybe murder the parents just to be sure. or something involving faeces and front door fittings

Think I am more shocked at the quality of CCTV!

Hope you get it sorted mate, the lad needs to be taught some respect.

I have spoken to teacher at local school over the phone, awaiting the head to call me back. The Teacher was very shocked and interested to identify the boy
