I quite like the no swear policy. I think it can become childish when swear words are thrown into every sentence. What's more, I think it adds a level of decorum here.

I agree with the no swearing policy, but I think the "links containing swearing" could be relaxed a little. Personally I think we should be able link to anything legal...

No I just think it takes more than "don't swear" for a conversation to reach a level of decorum. Last year we had people hoping that migrants making the journey across the med drowned or were shot, and it doesn't take much for thinly-veiled racism to rear its head whenever the subject of a thread could be vaguely about Muslims.
Just because there's no swearing involved doesn't automatically mean the conversation is going to sit at some level of quality above the rest of the cesspool that is the Internet.
