British Airways

I find it's a nice way to break the monotony of the flight up. At least with a train journey you can look out of the window.

I love flying and don't do it often enough so am quit happy to stare out the window like a little kid! :D

What's airline food like these days anyway? I always assumed it would be a bit grim.

Depends on the flight really! I just flew BA long haul on Saturday and got Chicken Teryaki for lunch/dinner and a 'full english' breakfast at the end. The chicken was OK, served with some sauce and rice. Came with quite a nice potato salad and salmon starter. The 'full English' was basically a small sausage, small bit of bacon, half a tomato, some mushrooms and some fairly solid scrambled egg. Again it was a welcome distraction on the flight after being sat down for nearly 10 hours at that point.

I would have looked out of the window but I was in an aisle seat, not ever a problem on trains with massive windows!

It's decent in business on BA. You get a proper plate with an actual metal fork and (blunt obviously) knife. Makes cutting the steak quite the task.

You can go to the business class food place on the plane anytime you want as well to help yourself to biscuits, snacks, drinks and all sorts. I must have eaten 6 pots of ice cream on one flight :p.

Not on short haul...

There was a guy on my flight who declared at 6.30am 'I'm dying for a pint me'

Classy. Don't suppose he could have waited the hour and a bit to have one.

You do get a proper meal.

I do BSL > LHR all the time. It's not the same as a long haul, but you will have a full english if it's breakfast, with pastries. Lunch is often a chicken salad, with dessert etc. But you will always get a proper meal.

It says online that my ticket is valid for complimentary meal and drinks, I was simply wondering what beer is sold on board.

And im sorry, but if you go on holiday and don't have a pint till your there, you ain't doing it properly!

I do BA short haul very regularly and haven't seen a full English for years, normally a croissant. So must depend on route.

Even if it's 7am and I'm at the airport I have a pint, can't beat it, it's basically the law.

Full english everytime with BA from Heathrow to Aberdeen if it's a morning flight...

Not very pleasant though.

I do BA short haul morning flight from LCY to ZRH, on which you get a hot breakfast.

Beer is available, but I don't have one usually because I'll be in the office later on that morning.

Ah okay thanks for that, and yeah understandable. The point was more towards miserable holiday makers :P
