whole list of jobs to be undertaken!

Got the keys on friday, so spent the weekend stripping the wallpaper, bathroom tiles and taking junk to the skip!

First big job is dropping all the ceilings/removing existing loft insulation then moving some walls/rooms around - as a stroke of luck the structural wall I wanted to knock appears not to be doing anything structural due to the way the roof trusses have been trimmed (still waiting on an engineer to visit and confirm it)
Other job is to remove the cavity wall insulation which was done by people who don't understand the climate on the west coast of scotland!
Other big plus is a completely undeveloped loft with attic trusses already in place.

have put the windows out to a few companies for quotes but the big window at the front is going to have to be a door due to the size, so adding a bit of cost on!

Will update the thread as I go along - until I run out of money! got lots of questions about getting the networking etc set up right...

WOW!!! I'm surprised you want to strip that wall paper out of the WC, its a real eye catcher ;)

I actually found a stash of some amazing vinyl wallpapers - they'll be getting ebayed asap!!

(everything was included in the sale - even the lovely stained bath mat...)

HAHA :D Well you know what they say, another mans trash is another mans treasure...still, it looks like a superb purchase and looking forward to seeing it finished. That sitting room is massive!!

yeah, all the rooms are nicely sized because of the age of the place, it needs work but we could see past the hideous decor!

I think that's the trick though isn't it. The bungalow i bought with my Ex was really worn down...new roof lining needed, polystyrene ceiling tiles and polystyrene wall paper to go with it

What a mess that made...

That wall paper is fantastic!

When I bought a house once it had 2 different brick effect wallpapers in one room, it wasn't until I invited some mates over for a house warming drinking session that one of them pointed out the paper was upside down so the shadows were on the wrong edge of the "bricks". I simply bought some uplighting lamps so the shadows were on the "correct edge" until I got round to decorating.

Looks like a great property! But of luck with the work....looking forward to following your progress.

Looks interesting. That drive is steeeep! :p

yeah, it will either be a clutch or handbrake that goes first! (going to take away the lower planter and open it up so we can abandon cars lower down - probably never use the garage unless its for working on the car

It's steep enough that the parking sensors go mental when you start going up it!

That wallpaper is crazy, got to let us know how much that goes for, surely can't be that many people want something like that.
Looks a great project though, loads of potential, best of luck :)

The swivel chair in the living room looks comfortable from the back, is that with the rest of the furniture going?

Yeah the swivel chair is absolutely knackered, guess it was the favourite seat in the house and has been smoked on for years! The other leather couches also stink of smoke and will be getting chucked! I'm keeping the swivel chair in the hope that I have enough money left at the end to get it refurbished!

ebay the chairs you will get a few quid for anything vintage even if it is a bit smokey. The swivel chair will certainly be worth something as they are very trendy and re-upholstery is surprisingly cheap when compare to the cost of good new furniture.
